Since the Red Dawn remake was finished two years ago, Josh Hutcherson became a participant of The Hunger Games, Chris Hemsworth became a humbled hammer-wielding demi-god and a member of The Avengers, Jeffery Dean Morgan became a hotel owner mixed up in mob affairs, and Adraianne Palicki became a member of G.I. Joe. But before all of that, they were Wolverines and after seeing a couple of promotionalimages, we now have our first trailer for Red Dawn. And you know what, it doesn’t look half bad, even if the film had been shelved for two years. Check it out below.
Like the first Red Dawn film, this remake centers on a group of youthful citizens and a capable soldier as they fight to regain control of their small town from the hands of international enemies, in this case, it’s the North Koreans. As you can see, they will be severely out numbered, out classed, and out gunned, but that won’t stop them. Based on the trailer alone, the new Red Dawn looks like one of those fun popcorn action flicks.
What a difference a couple of years make. After sitting on a shelf for the better part of two years, the remake of Red Dawn hits theaters this Thanksgiving. The film features a new generation of American’s youth defending their land against the forces of the North Koreans. Originally the film’s antagonists were the Chinese, but the film was digitally altered so that the antagonists would be North Koreans. We previously posted two new images from the film, and now we got our first look at the poster for Red Dawn, which looks like one of the options you would see on an instagram photo. Check it out below.
As you can see, MGM and Open Road are slowly pushing out the promotional material for the film. With this poster, this brings out print promotions to a grand total of four (the header image above, the two images, and now this poster). So if you are tired of photos and are just itching to see a trailer for the film, then you’re in luck, because the first trailer for the Red Dawn remake premieres tomorrow.
Before MGM fell into financial hardship, they were to release a multitude of films: Skyfall, Cabin in the Woods, The Hobbit (which was to be directed by Guillermo del Toro at the time), and Red Dawn. But now that MGM is on the straightened financial arrow and have found distributors to help them with their films, all four are to be released this year. However, we haven’t seen too much from the Red Dawn camp.
Well a few new photos have appeared online, reminding us that the film is coming in for its scheduled November release. These photos (which you can check out below) could just be a tease of what is to come in a few days. Maybe FilmDistrict will release the first trailer or a handful of new photos, but my guess is that the film’s first trailer will appear online sometime in the near future.
