One of the many, many things I love about Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the way they make their silly, incredibly funny, and often immature antics into a 99% believable (albeit short) police procedural. Okay, so I’m not an expert on how detectives solve crimes. I’m sure it’s not as entertaining as Brooklyn Nine-Nine, or even Law & Order. But despite the ridiculousness wrapped in puns wrapped in awesomeness, the crew at 99 still solve cases, and show the evidence used. The way the characters play off each other is perfect chemistry. Tonight’s episode of “Boyle’s Hunch” highlights the buddy cop dynamic of Peralta and Boyle (Andy Samberg and Joe Lo Truglio).

Last week‘s Brooklyn Nine-Nine came back strong for their 3rd season. Holt (Andre Braugher) and the 99th Precinct are still apart, but that doesn’t mean the laughs have to stop. Jake and Amy (Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero) decided to keep things casual (you know-after the kiss), with Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) almost on to them, until Jake makes up an imaginary gym floozy. Things escalate much further. Wunch (guest star Kyra Sedgwick) delights in the PR position torture of Holt. He ends up in a pigeon costume, yet still dignified. At least he has Gina (Chelsea Peretti). Bill Hader guested last week as the “New Captain,” but quickly died. Does not take a rocket scientist to figure out who “The Funeral” of this week is for. And that is what this episode is about – comedy against a funeral backdrop. Fun!

The 99th Precinct shenanigans are back! Brooklyn Nine-Nine begins its 3rd hilariously hysterical season at the exact moment season 2 ended – with the elevator door opening. The gang was awaiting their new captain. That’s right. Madeline Wunch (guest star Kyra Sedgwick) finally got Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) into her witchy clutches, in the guise of a PR promotion. Gina (Chelsea Peretti) went with him (noooooo!!!!!). Peralta and Diaz (Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero) finally kissed (yayyyyy!!!!).
Possible spoilers of tonight’s episode – proceed with caution below.

Another finale is upon us! I am going to miss the belly laughs of this delightful little comedy.
The morning brief has Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Santiago (Melissa Fumero) leading the case of an identity thief, who made off with over 100,000 social security numbers, ready to sell to China. The two of them cannot get over the awkwardness of how much they like each other – resorting to insults (“weird elbows”). The case forces them to get reeeally close though. The ending for the episode for them is satisfying.

What a fantastic episode! Brooklyn Nine-Nine was a clear winner this week. The one-liners had me cackling very two minutes. Jake (Andy Samberg) and Boyle (Jo Lo Truglio) were on the DeAngelo case – four mob guys stole 21 million dollars. They went to prison, but the money was never found. They are all out of jail, and now they are dying one at a a time. Jake believes the killer will lead them to the money. Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) believes that his arch nemesis, Madeline Wuntch (guest star Kyra Sedgewick), is looking for him to fail. It is quite surprising (and kinda sad) when we find out her ulterior motive.
