Last week on Gotham, Bruce (David Mazouz) came to an understanding with the secret evil group who killed his parents and corrupted his company. Oh, and his doppelgänger showed up at Wayne Manor. A very different looking Ivy (Maggie Geha) crawled out of the water. She murdered the man who helped her because he neglected his plants. Bullock (Donal Logue) got kidnapped and “persuaded” to help Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) find Dr. Strange (BD Wong). The GCPD, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) with his angry mob showed up at the scene. Jim snuck in to save Harvey, promising Fish a way out. That promise had a catch. Penguin was waiting for her, but was so moved by her reasons of being unable to kill him, that he let her go.

Last week on Gotham, we caught up with all of our old friends. Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) became queen of the monsters, as the whole city hunted for her. Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) made the pot sweeter by offering 1 million dollars for her capture, and then acted sweeter by proclaiming his friendship for Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) Jim Gordon’s new bounty hunter job put him right in line to capture monsters for cash. Ace reporter Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung) showed up as Jim’s next love interest, er… informant? Bruce and Alfred (David Mazouz and Sean Pertwee) returned home to a pissed off Selina (Camren Bicondova), and to piss off the board at Wayne Enterprises. Bruce told them that he has the goods on them. They promptly kidnapped him. One of Mooney’s goons killed Mrs. Peabody by speedy aging, and seemed to kill Ivy (Clare Foley) the same way, as she fell a long long way.

Interview: ‘Gotham’ Cinematographer Crescenzo Notarile
One of the most striking things about FOX’s hit series Gotham is how the scene settings are their own characters, enhancing the darkness of the story. Cinematographer Crescenzo Notarile embraced us in that darkness last season, and we certainly embraced him back. Fans are not the only ones to notice. Notarile is nominated for a Creative Arts Emmy in Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series for Episode 19’s “Azrael,” completely belonging in the stellar company of such shows as House of Cards, Homeland, and Game of Thrones.
I was lucky enough to speak to Notarile about the nomination, working with directors and actors, and some of our mutually favorite cast members.
Check out the interview and gorgeous image gallery here below.

Last week on Gotham, Dr. Strange (BD Wong) let Azrael (James Frain) loose on the city, and he went straight for Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Such is the power of suggestion. In the middle of Barnes (Michael Chiklis) not believing one word out of Jim’s mouth, Azrael showed up and stuck a knife in his gut. The whole city is interested in the resurrection, especially Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) figured out the puzzle of the Arkham’s patients minds, and then found the way into the secret basement lab.

Last week on Gotham, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) lost it all. Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), paranoid that Jim was onto him about Ms. Kringle, set up an elaborate crime riddle which ended with a cop dead and Jim framed, convicted, and sent to prison. He told Lee (Morena Baccharin) to forget about him. Harvey (Donal Logue) vowed to find the truth. Penguin, wandered around like a simpleton for a while, until he found his real father, who took him home. Bruce and Selina (David Mazouz and Camren Bicondova) robbed a drug den, and Bruce got his ass handed to him. They escaped and he was exhilarated.
