This weekend’s 99-cent Video On Demand rental deals are Fred Claus and the rated version of You Don’t Mess with the Zohan. I haven’t seen the latter and have been hesitant to spend any kind of money to see it, but hey, for a buck, I’ll do it. And Fred Claus is a cute holiday film, so well worth the small amount of money.
Amazon is having a big Box Set Blowout, which has lots of great deals on DVD box sets, so I’ve listed several items that I thought might be of interest.
But first, let me tell you what just happens to be the Gold Box spotlight item of the day: The X-Files: The Complete Collector’s Edition, which you can get for only $123.99. That’s 62% off the regular price and let me tell you, I’ve have been waiting for this item to not only go on sale, but to even be available at all — most times you can’t even get this, so I’m thinking that I might just need to gift this item to myself. It’s just too good to pass up. This comprehensive box set includes all nine seasons of the television series, the original feature film Fight The Future — another typically hard to find item — plus, the Mythology Threads featurettes.
And speaking of The X-Files, it looks like they’re selling a 2-pack of both movies — Fight The Future and I Want To Believe — in Blu-ray for $39.99: The X-Files Movie 2-Pack [Blu-ray]. (By the way, there’s still a chance to win a DVD or Blu-ray copy of the recently released I Want To Believe in the Geeks of Doom X-Files Contest.)
Feel free to let me know what you think about these offers and if you’re planning on taking advantage of them! See list of noteworthy items here below.
