‘Death Kiss’: Watch A Trailer For Unofficial ‘Death Wish’ Sequel Starring (Not) Charles Bronson

Recently a remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson vigilante flick Death Wish directed by Eli Roth and starring Bruce Willis was released. Things have not gone so well for the movie, which is currently sitting at 17% on Rotten Tomatoes.

But if you’ve longed for a new movie in the original Death Wish series and didn’t think it would ever happen (due of course to the great Bronson passing away almost 15 years ago now), all is not entirely lost. A new movie titled Death Kiss, which is something of an unofficial sequel, is on the way and it stars as close to Charles Bronson as possible. The actor’s name is Robert Bronzi, and believe it or not, that’s him in the image up there. Not Bronson. Seriously.

First Trailer For Eli Roth’s ‘Death Wish’ Remake Starring Bruce Willis

MGM has released the first trailer for Death Wish, a remake (or “re-imagining”) of the 1974 revenge thriller of the same name starring Charles Bronson.

The remake is helmed by Cabin Fever, Hostel, and The Green Inferno director Eli Roth, and stars Bruce Willis in the same role Bronson played in the original, Elisabeth Shue, and Camila Morrone. The screenplay was penned by Joe Carnahan, the writer and director of Smokin’ Aces, The Grey, and the upcoming remake of The Raid.

Joe Carnahan Going From ‘The Grey’ To ‘Death Wish’?

Talk about having a great week.

With a box office-topping film under his belt in The Grey director Joe Carnahan has nabbed himself not only a new gig, but one that should leave film geeks waiting rather anxiously.

24 Frames is reporting that Carnahan has been tapped by MGM and Paramount to write and direct the upcoming Death Wish remake. The Charles Bronson classic followed the story of an architect who “morphs into an assassin after his wife and daughter are brutally attacked. Bronson’s character then undertakes a one-man mission to hurt and kill a host of criminals on the streets of New York.”
