Netflix’s Marvel Shows Can’t Appear On Disney+ For Two Years
  |  @   |

The wave of Marvel shows being canceled by Netflix was alarming but not surprising, especially since Disney is launching their own streaming service, Disney+, in 2019.

Most believed that Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and presumably The Punisher and Jessica Jones would just migrate over to their new home. Which makes sense. They would join the Scarlet Witch, Loki, Winter Soldier, and Falcon shows that are being launched. However, there is a clause that prevents these shows from appearing on Disney+ until 2020. More on the report, below.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Crossover With ‘Defenders’ Improbable
  |  @   |

When it was announced that Marvel would be expanding the MCU on Netflix by airing four series based on heroes of New York City, it was hoped that such an expansion would mean that said heroes would appear in the final two Avengers filmssoon to be retitled. But finding a way to fit 67 characters into the two films would be problematic and highly unlikely to happen.

But having all the characters from the films and television would be a true comic book movie event of epic proportions. Check out what they had to say below.

  |  @   |

Just this week it was announced that Netflix has scheduled the release of Marvel’s Daredevil for an April 10 premiere — all 13 episodes released at once for subscribers’ viewing pleasure. But as to when we will get to see the other Marvel series Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders is unclear. In fact, even with the recent castings of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones in A.K.A. Jessica Jones, with Mike Colter as Luke Cage, production for either series has yet to begin, and according to Chief Content Officer of Netfix, Ted Sarandos, it could be up to a year before any of the Marvel shows on Netflix, beyond Daredevil, would make their Internet debut.

Marvel To Film Netflix’s ‘Defender’ Series In New York
  |  @   |

It’s always exciting to see a film or TV series filmed on location instead of behind a green or blue screen. But when filming in prime locations like New York or Los Angeles, securing closed sets with the necessary permits can be problematic. Despite some of the red tape, Netflix’s upcoming Marvel series based on the heroes of Hell’s Kitchen: DareDevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Defenders will film all 60 episodes for the five series on location in New York.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, The Walt Disney Company, Marvel, and Netflix Inc. made the announcement today. According to the press release multi-million dollar incentive program was created to lure Marvel Studios to shoot in New York – seeing as most of the characters are based in the city this makes sense. Hit the jump to see why this is a good thing for both Marvel Studios and the city of New York.
