Official Trailer For Latest Entry In ‘The Grudge’ Series Released
  |  @   |

For anyone who’s not already aware, a new movie in The Grudge franchise is on the way. The movies are based on the Japanese Ju-On series, and began with the 2004 title of the same name starring Sarah Michelle Gellar.

This latest entry is produced by Sam Raimi and written and directed by Nicolas Pesce, and stars Andrea Riseborough, Demián Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin, Lin Shaye, and Jacki Weaver. The movie is directly connected to both Ju-On and the 2004 American remake, but unlike the American remake, it will have an R rating instead of a PG-13 rating.

‘The Nun’ Trailer: The ‘Conjuring’ Universe Looks Into That Terrifying Portrait
  |  @   |

I’m not a fan of the Conjuring films. Not because they are bad films, but they scare the bejeezus out of me. The success of both films have given way for spinoffs, and thus launching what is known as The Conjuring Universe. Following the success of two surprisingly good Annabelle films, comes The Nun.

The portrait which appeared in The Conjuring 2 is getting its very own spinoff, which isn’t in the same vein as the Annabelle films, but it does give us pause as to why we keep inflecting scars on ourselves watching these terrifyingly good horrors/thrillers. Check out the first trailer below.

Movie Review: Alien: Covenant

Alien: Covenant
Director: Ridley Scott
Screenwriter: John Logan and Dante Harper
Cast: Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo, Demián Bichir
Distributor: 20th Century Fox
Rated PG-13 | 122 Minutes
Release Date: May 19, 2017

The truth is that while I liked Alien: Covenant, I didn’t love it. What’s tragic, aside for the future the prequel sets humanity up for, is that all it would have taken to make the film phenomenal was some small tweaks and changes.

Alien: Covenant lacks the same emotional heights sci-fi fans associate with Ridley Scott’s film of 1979 or James Cameron’s 1986 sequel, though it’s not without merit. Chief among the complaints is that the new film seems to sit on the franchise’s laurels rather than push it forward in the way Casino Royale did for James Bond or Logan did for X-Men. It’s been 38 years since the original Alien thriller, but this movie lacks some of the lauded learnings and innovations of modern science fiction cinema.

  |  @   |

Alien: Covenant, the newest chapter of the Alien film franchise will hit theaters in just a few short weeks. In that time we are likely to see a lot more clips and learn a little bit more about the franchise itself.

Among those things we are learning, director Ridley Scott admits that he made a few mistakes in Prometheus. Also, when the next film starts production. And that’s not all. Fox has also released a new clip, that just reinforces my absolute fear in the idea of facehuggers. Check it all out below.
