I Wanna Do Bad Things With You: A Look Back At ‘True Blood’s Villains
  |  @   |

True Blood, that campy vampire HBO series based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris set in fictional Bon Temps, Louisiana, came to an end last night, Sunday, August 24th, with Season 7 Episode 10 finale “Thank You.” The series revolves around telepath Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her supernatural (and non) lovers, relatives, and friends.

No good vampire/werewolf/fairy/shapeshifter/medium/witch show would be complete without a formidable foe (or foes) for the plucky heroes and heroines to stand against. Some were silly, some were horrifying, some were lunatics, some were the heroes and heroines themselves, and some deserved their own late night Cinemax show, but they all had the common thread of being thoroughly entertaining. Sookie and her posse always prevailed (with some casualties). But, it’s all come to an end now, so it’s time to take a look back at the Villains from each season.

5 Crazy TV Bad Guys We Can’t Help But Love
  |

Sometimes we hate bad guys. The combination of excellent writing, directing, and acting for a villain can get us lost in the story and in our distaste for the character. I have a huge amount of respect for actors and television shows that can pull this off; however, there is another type of antagonist that I think we can all appreciate just as much, if not more. I’m sure you guessed it by the title: it’s the maniacal big baddies who not only scare us, but also make us laugh with glee. Check out this list below of crazy television bad guys we can’t help but love. I think you’ll agree – but feel free to comment and let us know who your favorites are too!

American Horror Story, the new series from Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, seems to be heading in a potentially interesting direction if the pilot episode is anything to go by. But I won’t be going along with them.

First off I’m not exactly the biggest fan of Murphy (whose other crimes against pop culture include creating Nip/Tuck and writing and directing Eat, Pray, Love) or any members of the American Horror Story cast, including Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton (although she was good on Spin City and Friday Night Lights), and Jessica Lange. It’s a mixed bag of overrated talent that grates my nerves whenever any of them are on screen and it doesn’t help the actors that the characters they play are unsympathetic and the material dull and pretentious. By the way, this is supposed to be a haunted house story.
