Last week on Outlander, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) had severe WWII flashbacks in the midst of prepping the army, who are sorely in need of training. When she finally talked about it with Jamie (Sam Heughan), she felt a bit better, but war is ugly no matter who wins. One of the most pivotal moments in the books happened last week, as a young (John) William Grey was captured and spilled all for fear of Claire’s “honor.” Jamie spared him and he is now in his debt. Dougal (Graham McTavish) arrived at the camp with his men, and was really proud of Jamie for joining the cause. Of course, Dougal got in trouble often because he is Dougal. Jamie took a whipping and thus was an example of a true leader.

Last week on Outlander, Claire and Jamie Fraser (Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan) were back in Lallybroch, along with Fergus and Murtagh (Romann Berrux, Duncan Lacroix), after Paris broke them. Being with Jenny and Ian (Laura Donnelly, Steven Cree) and the kids started to heal them. Bad news followed as Prince Charles sent a missive that declares his father the rightful king, and he forged Jamie’s signature. The Frasers decided if “they can’t beat em, join em,” to hopefully turn the future defeat and massacre into victory. They tried to get his grandfather, “the fox,” to join, but he was clever and managed to play both sides through his son. Laoghaire (Nell Hudson) tried to make amends.

Last week on Outlander, Jamie and Claire (Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe) are now in France, where all sorts of weird things happened. Claire got to watch her friend Louise’s (Claire Sermonne) womanly parts get waxed, then tried it herself. Jamie gave Prince Charles Stuart (Andrew Gower) rebellion advice in a brothel. They traveled to the court of Louis XV (Lionel Lingelser), where Jamie and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) were lucky enough to watch a constipated king on his chamberpot, and offer advice. Claire got her feet kissed by the Minister of Finance. The Duke of Sandringham (Simon Callow) showed up with Alex Randall (Laurence Dobiesz), BlackJack’s little brother in tow. Last week during the premiere of Outlander season 2, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) went back through the stones of Craig na Dun a few years later than she left – in 1948. Frank (Tobias Menzies) was thrilled to have her back, although that is dampened once she told him the whole crazy story, and that she is pregnant with Jamie’s child. He still wanted to be with her and raise the child as his own. The episode then transitioned to the Frasers arrival in France, and Claire mucking it up with her feminism, which Jamie (Sam Heughan) treasures. She declared a member of a ship’s crew dying of smallpox, which made a rich and angry Comte’s ship have to burn. He vowed revenge. Jamie’s cousin Jared (Robert Cavanah) left Jamie his house and business to run while he went away. The Frasers are planning to stop the Jacobite rebellion, thus stopping the massacre at Culloden.
