Surprise! ‘Firefly’ Creator Joss Whedon To Direct ‘The Avengers’
  |  @   |

When it comes to fanboys, no one is better suited for any job you can think of than Joss Whedon. The writer/creator/producer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse has developed an army of followers who will love him to the end of time.

Marvel Studios has apparently realized this faithful following and how much Whedon is just a geek and fanboy himself. According to Deadline Hollywood, the maker of epic comic book movies is in final negotiations with Whedon to direct The Avengers, which is the film that will bring all of these massive characters and storylines into one film.

‘Dollhouse’ Team Joss Whedon & Eliza Dushku To Make Feature Film?
  |  @   |

It looks as if Dollhouse fans won’t have to wait too long after the show was canceled to see the team behind their favorite show getting back together for some more fun. According to star Eliza Dushku, she and writer/creator Joss Whedon will be re-teaming soon for a feature film.

Dushku was asked by Hollywood Life about her rumored part in Ghostbusters 3, which she denied as false (so far) a long time ago on her Twitter account, but is still listed on IMDB for some reason. The conversation then moved on to what was next for the actress, which lead to her reveal of another possible collaboration with Whedon.

Geek God Joss Whedon & ‘Super Size Me’ Director Morgan Spurlock Want YOU For Comic Con Documentary
  |  @   |

E! Online has received some interesting news. Apparently Joss Whedon — creator of popular titles like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, and Dollhouse — is getting ready to tag team with documentary film maker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?) to make a documentary about the super geeks that attend Comic Con every year.

Reports are that Whedon and Spurlock will find a bunch of different people who take their geekdom very seriously. They want those of you who not only own, but often dress up in your favorite movie or TV show character’s costumes — and none of that Halloween costume crap, the real-deal outfits — to follow around for a few months.

Click on over to see a video of the folks I imagine these gentlemen are seeking!

Will Joss Whedon Give Cable A Taste With A New Show On FX?
  |  @   |

One of the most fanboy-popular creators of television content working today is of course Joss Whedon. So far, the writer/producer/director has delivered to us shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse.

Whedon is also one of the most unlucky creators of television content working today, with both Firefly and Dollhouse being canceled too quickly — Firefly not even getting the patience of one full season to gain an audience. So what exactly does a man of his status do next, and where should he go with his plans?

According to Futon Critic, Whedon is actually about to meet with John Landgraf, President of FX, for a little lunch. What the two are meeting about and what could possibly be in the works is not known to anyone at all — it could be to talk about new series ideas; it could be to talk about puppies and interesting concoctions created using Heinz ketchup. All that is really known is that the two haven’t met before, so it is likely to be business-related.
