‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Rumors: Doomsday To Appear and More
  |  @   |

By now you may have heard of the villains that will exist in the Warner Bros.’ DC universe courtesy of the Suicide Squad cast announcement. Will Will Smith reprise his role as Captain Boomerang and go up against Ezra Miller who plays the Flash? Who knows. Whatever happens in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice could shape the future of the DC Cinematic Universe, much like The Avengers did for Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We still know next to nothing about the plot of Batman v Superman, other than the rumor that Luthor as obtained General Zod’s body, and has been gathering pieces of the World Engine to synthesize Kryponite. Now the latest rumors claim the addition of not one, but two villains. One is an iconic Superman foe, but the other may be a bit of a strange pick for a Batman baddie. The first rumor is that Luthor has a Russian henchman who goes by the name the KGBeast. Next is that Joker is already an established character in the universe, and Superman already knows about him. Another says that meta-humans already exist in this world. Finally, Doomsday is in the film.

Watch Now: Trailer For Neil Marshall’s ‘Centurion’
  |  @   |

The very first new trailer for Neil Marshall‘s Centurion has been released via IGN.

The movie takes place in 117 A.D. and tells the story of Rome’s Ninth Legion, who set off on a major mission to find and destroy the leader of the Picts and anyone who tries to stop them. But when the Picts spring a trap on them and take the Legion’s general captive, one remaining Roman soldier must take just a few men and find a way to stop the Picts once and for all.

The movie reunites stars Dominic West and Michael Fassbender, who appeared together in another epic battle movie: 300. West plays captured General Virilus, while Fassbender plays Quintus Dias, a survivor of the ambush who is trapped deep within the enemy’s boundaries. The movie also stars Hitman and Quantum of Solace leading lady Olga Kurylenko as a Pict warrior whose tongue was removed by the Romans after they killed her entire family. This character would seem to point to one of those cases where we the viewers will not be sure who to pull for.

Confessions Of A Cinema Junkie: Glorious Self-Indulgence And The Return Of Grandeur
  |

“You wake up one morning and say “World, I know you! From now on there are no more surprises!’.” — Jill McBain from Once Upon A Time In The West

“The barbarities of war are seldom committed by abnormal men. The tragedy of war is that these horrors are committed by normal men in abnormal situations.” — Major J.F Thomas from “˜Breaker’ Morant

“See that bird? That’s the spirit bird. He will always look after you.” — Maud from Rabbit-Proof Fence

Every weekend we pay to see the fruits of the filmmakers’ dreams at the multiplex. Every weekend translates into a cynical game of Russian roulette with our cash. Every weekend there is a chance to fall under their spells and believe all over again. Every weekend there is a chance to truly escape reality for a few hours. Their self-indulgence is a double-edged sword which can either transcend their final vision into unlimited ecstasy or send it crashing to the eternal damnation of the bargain DVD bin at the local Best Buy. Certain films still have a hypnotic power over me, but there are a few that punch me in the gut and send me into another dimension. Werner Herzog knows all too well about the joy and “burden of dreams.”
