Getting a definite release date for the tentatively titled God Particle has been touch and go. The film was scheduled for a late 2017 release but then was pushed back to February 2018.
And now, the next chapter of the Cloverfield franchise has been pushed back once more. This time to April 2018. Find out more about this in the story below.
Back in January of this year came the surprising reveal of 10 Cloverfield Lane, director Dan Trachtenberg’s super secret “blood relative” to producer J.J. Abrams 2008 hit Cloverfield. Abrams made it very clear, however, that the movie was not Cloverfield 2. The two were connected, but part of something much bigger.
Now that much bigger thing is beginning to become even more clear. It’s been revealed that a movie titled God Particle, which Abrams has been attached to as a producer for a while now, is another Cloverfield-related project. More info on the movie, what it’s about, and who stars, can be found below.
Star Trek Beyond Director: Justin Lin Screenwriters: Simon Pegg and Doug Jung Cast: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Idris Elba, and Sofia Boutella Distributor:Paramount Pictures Rated PG-13 | 120 minutes Release Date: July 22, 2016
It’s been three years since we last left Captain James Tiberius Kirk and his young, hip, sexy rebooted USS Enterprise crew sifting through the charred rubble of the embarrassingly-flawed and intelligence-insulting Star Trek Into Darkness. When the first J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek feature was released in 2009, it thrilled me as both a lover of well-executed blockbuster entertainment and someone who has grown up enjoying the adventures of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and company because its creative and commercial success ensured that future generations would have their own Enterprise to follow into the cinematic cosmos. Into Darkness pretty much undid every detectable trace of that progress in the span of a mere two hours.
The thought of the sequels that would inevitably follow filled me with the sort of trepidation one often experiences as they prepare to enter an old house that has been abandoned since the previous owners were horribly murdered twenty years ago….
There are only a few more days left until the release of Star Trek Beyond, and Paramount is pulling out all the stops to make sure that you go and see this film. If we are to base our reactions from critics who’ve already saw it last week, Beyond looks to be an improvement if not the best film of the franchise since it got rebooted back in 2009. But just in case you still aren’t sure whether or not to see it, the studio has released one final short trailer that puts an emphasis on how much fun you will have.
Paramount will be releasing Star Trek Beyond in just a few weeks, and there is much anticipation surrounding the film. Part of that is sadly contributed due to the tragic passing of Anton Yelchin, but the other – which in no way should overshadow the loss of the actor – is the fact that the film will officially introduce a major character as a gay father.
During the film’s overseas press tour, it has been revealed that Sulu, played by John Cho, will be gay and he and his partner have a daughter together. More on the story below.
