Emma Stone Leia

Along with the release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray tomorrow, Lucasfilm has teamed up with eBay, Major League Baseball, and a number of celebrities to urge fans to “Use the Force for Good” and donate to Stand Up to Cancer, the organization that’s tirelessly funding research in the fight against cancer.

In their mission to bring in as much money as possible to fight this terrible disease, a handful of celebrities were brought in to make a video. In it, the stars””which includes Aziz Ansari, Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Jaime King, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Emma Stone, and Samuel L. Jackson“”re–enact various scenes from Star Wars.

You can see the video by heading below now. Might I add that it involves Miss Stone as Princess Leia? Because it does. Not Slave Leia, as I’m sure you all [I] wanted, but Leia nonetheless. For the rest of you, it also has Galifianakis as Leia…so there’s that, too!

Back to the Future II Nike MAG

It’s very much likely that we all at one point or another have dreamed of those crazy fictional things from the “future” we’ve seen created for movies, TV shows, comics, and video games somehow being made into a reality some day. And perhaps the movie that presented the most fun and intriguing futuristic goodies to bring to life, was of course Back to the Future II.

The most iconic futuristic item shown in the movie would have to be the hoverboard””a skateboard without wheels that hovers a foot or so above the ground””which hasn’t been mass–produced…yet…though one artist did build his own working hoverboard a while back.

But after that, it’s all about the self–lacing shoes that Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) wore in the movie, called the Nike MAG. And now those very shoes are a reality…sorta. A reality for those of us with a lot of money sitting around, anyway.

Continue reading to learn how you can try and get your own pair of the sneakers, and to see a couple of videos””one of which has none other than Christopher Lloyd returning to the role of Doc Brown!

Quite the interesting new item is up for bidding on eBay, and the winner will find themselves the proud new owner of an entire video game store!

The store, located in Grand Junction, Colorado, is currently still active and the owners have decided to part ways with it. If you win the auction, you can either continue running the store from Colorado, OR you can have the entire inventory shipped to your location, were you can add it to your own inventory or start your own new game store. Shipping seems fair; if you pay the asking price or more the first 750 miles are free and $1 each additional mile.

Included in the inventory is games from all platforms, including Nintendo, SEGA, Super NES, PlayStation, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii and many others. There’s also game systems, accessories, displays and signs and shelving and every bit of what comes with a game store. And the most intriguing part of all of this? There’s a Buy it Now option for $30,000, which, if you have it, isn’t bad at all for what you get. According to the seller there’s $60,000 worth of inventory included.

2010-04-14_BlackLotusGradedAnyone who has ever played the Magic: The Gathering card game will probably remember the high price of the game’s original beta print run. These cards are basically the same as the first set regular edition cards except for some sizing differences. Collectors, on the other hand, must have them.

If you’ve got $89,000 collecting dust in some savings fund, you can head on over to eBay to bid on a Beta Black Lotus with a grade of 10, which is allegedly the only one in existence.

For anyone that doesn’t play Magic or has never played it, a mint condition Beta Black Lotus card is the equivalent to an Amazing Fantasy #15 for comic book geeks. If you don’t know the significance of either of those two items then you need to keep reading our site for further knowledge of geek culture.
