In a development so stunning it made me drop a cup of coffee on my foot this morning, Daredevil – the self-proclaimed nocturnal protector of Hell’s Kitchen (the neighborhood in New York, not the cooking show with that perpetually angry British dude) – has revealed that he has become a born again Christian and will no longer battle crime as Daredevil.
“I can no longer continue my fight against the criminal element of this city while dressed as a poorly-attired minion of the dark lord Satan,” Daredevil said to the assembled press early this morning. “I am now….Risk-Averse Angel!”
Elodie Yung, best known in the U.S. for her roles of Jinx in GI Joe: Retaliation and Miriam Wu in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, has been cast as Elektra for Marvel’s DaredevilSeason 2 on Netflix. She will join Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), who has already signed on to play Frank Castle/Punisher.
Marvel has some big plans for the reboot of the Marvel Universe as well as new titles in the Marvel proper universe, and has released previews for Elektra #1, Ultimate FF #1, and a look at the Spider-Verse featuring every Spider-Man ever! Check out the previews here below.
The Future Foundation is back rising from the Cataclysm of the Ultimate universe with a new team made up of Tony Stark, Sam Wilson, Sue Storm, and Machine Man. In the first arc, Doctor Doom joins the team as well. Could this be the return of the brain trust that Reed Richards hinted at in the first issue of Survive? Ultimate FF #1, the start of a new series from writer Joshua Hale Fialkov and artist Mario Guevara, hits shelves on April 16, 2014.
