Disney’s live-action take on the 101 Dalmatians villain Cruella de Vil has a director in sights.
It’s being reported that Craig Gillespie, director of the Academy Award winning I, Tonya and the 2011 Fright Night remake, has entered into negotiations to direct Cruella. The spinoff, which is similar to Disney’s villain-centric Sleeping Beauty spinoff Maleficent, is set to star Oscar winner Emma Stone in the title role.
Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for Maniac, a limited series starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill making its way to the streaming service soon.
The series follows the story of two people taking part in a pharmaceutical trial for a drug that promises to fix all their problems. Fox Searchlight has released a new trailer for The Favourite, an upcoming historical drama about Queen Anne in the early 18th century which stars Emma Stone (La La Land, Birdman), Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener, The Fountain), and Olivia Colman (Hot Fuzz, The Crown).
If this is the first you’ve heard of the movie, the trailer might initially make it look like your typical awards season release—or “Oscar Bait,” as they are often labeled. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Those types of films are often excellent. But as the trailer progresses it quickly becomes more than just a historical drama. It becomes funny. It becomes dark. All led by what appear to be three fittingly awards-caliber performances by Stone, Weisz, and Colman.

Questioning the nature of reality seems to be a common theme in shows nowadays. And we will get to see that in the new Netflix series Maniac starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. The series comes from True Detective season 1 director Cary Fukunaga and sees its characters participating in a mysterious pharmaceutical trial that puts them in alternate realities while those conducting the experiment find themselves on opposite sides of the ethics of the experiment.
The first Zombieland was a gut-wrenching horror comedy from Ruben Fleischer. One that would reunite original cast Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin once more.
Well, now the wait is over. According to recent reports, Zombieland 2 is happening, and everyone who was involved in the first is coming back for more. Check out the full story below.
