To take revenge halfheartedly is to court disaster; either condemn or crown your hatred.” – Pierre Corneille

Big Man surely doesn’t take his revenge halfheartedly. If anything, the titular character in Big Man Plans #3 fully embraces the latter part of the above quote from the 17th century French tragedian, crowning his personal revenge king. Written by Eric Powell and Tim Wiesch, Big Man — the tortured and vicious antihero — continues enacting his brutal plans against those who’ve wronged him and the ones he’s loved.

Wow, those Predators really get around. We know from the films that they treat our world like their own personal hunting lease. We’ve seen them fight virtually everything under the sun from Batman to Aliens to Tarzan, but nothing could have prepared us for Archie Vs. Predator #1! Welcome, my friends, to Big Trouble In Little China #3! Twenty-eight years ago, one of the finest action comedies to ever grace the silver screen was released. And apparently it was so awesome that it took this long to create a suitable followup to the film. This third issue, in what has to be one of the funniest comics around, is a worthy sequel to John Carpenter‘s masterpiece. Of course, the first issue got a wonderful review from GoD’s PS Hayes, so make sure you check it out, too.

BOOM! Studios Announce ‘Escape From New York’ Comic Book Series
  |  @   |

BOOM! Studios already has one pretty successful comic book adaptation of a John Carpenter/Kurt Russell 1980s movie under their belt with Big Trouble in Little China. Now, the publisher has officially announced a second series based on another cult classic, Escape from New York.

Starting in December, writer Christopher Sebela (High Crimes, and Dead Letters) will chronicle the ongoing adventures of Snake Plissken, ex-soldier and all around badass. The original film detailed his adventure to save the President after Air Force One crash lands in the now prison island of Manhattan. I say continuing adventures, although I’m not sure if the series will be a retelling of the original movie or a sequel, and if it is a sequel if they’ll continue the story on from the actual movies sequel, Escape from L.A.
