Okay, so confession time. I am not a fan of the Charmed franchise, best known for the television series which ran from 1998 to 2006 on The WB (before it eventually became The CW). I tried to like it but it wasn’t really my cup of tea, so to speak. My wife on the other hand, loved the TV series and every single novel that I could find that featured these witches. But as it holds such a special place in her heart, I decided to show it some love here. Without further ado, I would like to introduce you to Charmed: A Thousand Deaths #1 from Dynamite Entertainment.
Swords of Sorrow: Red Sonja & Jungle Girl #1 is one of the satellite series from Dynamite Entertainment’s big summer crossover, Swords of Sorrow! It features, no surprise here, Red Sonja and Jungle Girl.

Swords of Sorrow #1 is many things: a really fun story, even though it’s not supposed to be; a great comic to look at. But, beyond that, this book is special because it stars an all-female cast of heroes. As a man, I almost didn’t want to review this, but then I thought “It doesn’t matter if the book stars women, the only thing that matters is if it’s good or not.” So, is it? Let’s find out…
