One thing is for sure, Luc Besson really likes to think outside the box. That is pretty clear in what we have been seeing in the marketing campaign for his new film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. A new trailer dropped this morning, giving us another look at the space opera The Professional director has created. Some even call the film the spiritual successor to The Fifth Element. Judging by the looks of things, that is very true.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has been releasing a series of character vignette videos over the past month or so for their remake of The Magnificent Seven.
The videos offer a brief look at each of the these seven magnificent characters, including The Outlaw named Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo); The Warrior, Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier); The Assassin, Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee); The Hunter, Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio); The Sharpshooter, Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke); The Gambler, Faraday (Chris Pratt); and The Bounty Hunter, Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington).
Sony Pictures has just released the second trailer for Antoine Fuqua‘s The Magnificent Seven. The film is a reimagining of the 1960’s film of the same name, which also happened to be an adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 Japanese-language film Seven Samurai. Fuqua’s film stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Lee Byung-hun, Manuel Garcia Rulfo, and Martin Sensmeier as our seven protagonists, each with their own special set of skills, who are hired by the residents of a small town in need of help ousting the nefarious industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard).
It’s been quite a while since we first heard rumors about actors like Tom Cruise and Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Costner starring in a remake of the 1960 western classic The Magnificent Seven for MGM. None of those rumors played out, but the remake still moved forward, and, as promised when we saw the first official images yesterday, a trailer for the movie has been released today.
Though it is technically a teaser trailer, our first look at the movie still runs over two minutes in length and shows plenty of footage. Click on over to the other side to check it out.
