So it is all over — the Fifty Shades trilogy that tried to be more than just kinky unspoken sex and about two seemingly wildly incompatible characters getting together and sustaining a relationship. But the surprising thing about it is that despite how terrible the first feature, Fifty Shades Of Grey, was, the following installments were actually pretty tolerable to the point of enjoyment. Yes, the entire trilogy as a whole is pretty bad, and the lack of chemistry between leads Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan is clear, but by the time we get from Fifty Shades Darker to Fifty Shades Freed, we see that the franchise has embraced its absurdity.

The result is that we can enjoy the film for what it is. Regardless of how one may feel about the trilogy, Fifty Shades Freed is just one of those films that is so bad it’s actually pretty good. And owning up to the fact that it can be mildly enjoyable is hard to admit. My full review below.

‘Fifty Shades Freed’ Trailer: Car Chases, Bondage, and Happy Endings, Oh My!

I’m not entirely sure if the Fifty Shades franchise still has that tight grip it once had when it was at its pop culture peak, but at least its film franchise intends to see the trilogy all the way to the end. Despite being knocked for its poor writing and lack of chemistry between the two leads, the series’ success – if you can call it that – has led up to the final installment of the trilogy, Fifty Shades Freed.

And now with just a couple of months left until the film’s traditional Valentine’s Day release, Universal is releasing yet another trailer to remind you that this sex-filled soap opera drama is coming. Check out the latest trailer below.

The end is near for the Fifty Shades film franchise, and after taking two films to figure things out, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) are ready to take their relationship to the next level.

By walking down the aisle. All the dark and kinky S&M bondage stuff may not be behind them just yet, but at least they are now committed. However, it appears that Grey still has a few skeletons in his closet. And there is also someone who is stalking Anastasia. Find out more about this in the first teaser for Fifty Shades Freed here below.

Universal Pictures is still on the lookout for a director to helm Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to Fifty Shades Of Grey. Given the reports of conflict on set between Sam Taylor-Johnson and Fifty Shades Trilogy author EL James, a replacement director had to be found. Now it looks like Universal is close. According to a number of reports the studio is close to closing a deal with James Foley to helm the sequel, but another report says that he is only on a short list of directors the studio is considering.

More on the story below.

‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Sequels Are On The Way

Like it or not, the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie is happening. One of the more difficult novels to adapt because of its highly sexualized content, Sam Taylor-Johnson‘s adaptation of the popular first novel in E.L. James’ erotica trilogy opens this weekend, Insiders are saying that the film is already $60 million in advance at the box office, and early ticket sales are showing that it is one of the fastest-selling R-rated movies on online ticket sites like Fandango.

Sure the first Fifty Shades has yet to open and prove itself at the box office, but because of those early ticket sales and favorable projections, Universal has already greenlit the big-screen adaptations of the sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. Hit the jump for more.
