As 2016 comes to close and we settling into the first few weeks into 2017, it’s time to go through my list of movies I saw in 2016 and pick the ten best titles. This year’s total was 69 new movies, and for those new to my lists, that includes all new movies, no matter when they came out. So the easiest step in the process is weeding out the older movies, but then comes the hard part. It took a few passes, but I finally have my top ten, so sit back and grab some popcorn, because here comes my top ten movies of 2016…

Disney In Depth: 2016 Animation Battle: ‘Moana’ v. ‘Finding Dory’ v. ‘Zootopia’

The Walt Disney Studios released three critically/viewer acclaimed films in 2016 that also were major financial hits – Moana still pending, but early signs look favorable; Finding Dory; and Zootopia.

Sequels are becoming more popular over at Pixar. While the studio prides itself more on its original storytelling, their sequels are not to be overlooked. As we have seen, these sequels are not just an easy cash grab, they have heartfelt meaningful stories that are able to tap into every emotion. Finding Dory is proof of that. Not even 13 years since the release of the film was enough for fans or Ellen DeGeneres to forget about the impact that Finding Nemo has created. Top 10 Movies Of 2016 … So Far – Seandps’s Picks

It’s that time once again folks, as we have officially come to the close of the summer movie season and get ready for Oscar season and the winter holiday films. I’ve been looking over my list of new movies I have seen this year — and yes this includes older movies as well, but also movies that I have seen for the first time – to pick my favorites so far. So the easiest step of my process for this post is to first go through and get rid of the older movies and then get into the nitty gritty of compiling my top ten movies of 2016…so far.

Honest Trailers Presents ‘Finding Nemo’

Are you ready for Finding Dory? Because the gang at Screen Junkies are, and they’re getting you prepared with an Honest Trailer for the 2003 Disney/Pixar hit Finding Nemo. You remember, the one that you absolutely loved; until you watch it again, and realize Nemo’s mom and siblings were eaten by a barracuda in the opening few minutes. So get ready to well up your eyes, because Disney is about to hit you in the heartstrings again. Hopefully this sequel is more Toy Story 2 than Cars 2
