A new 12-part television series based on the Transporter films that starred Jason Statham is currently in production and will debut on the cable movie channel Cinemax next year.
British actor Chris Vance, who has played recurring characters like Whistler on Prison Break and Mason Gilroy on Burn Notice, will take over for Statham in the role of Frank Martin, the titular man whose job it is to transport certain people or objects no matter what danger lies in his path. His three rules are: never change the deal; no names; and never open the package. Naturally, as you may have seen in the movies, those rules are made to be broken, and they always are.
Spider-Man 3, Superman 3, and The Matrix Revolutions are just some examples of how good movies can go bad. Sure, they are entertaining on some level, but they never match up to their predecessors. So, I was not exactly sure what to make of The Transporter 3 when it came out. The series certainly made an impression when it first came on the scene but the sequel was definitely not as good as the original. Thankfully, fans of the series can rest easy: The movie far exceeds expectations.
