  |  @   |

Following the announcement earlier this week that Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen has joined the cast of the next Predator movie, titled The Predator, comes word that Yvonne Strahovski is also joining the cast.

Strahovski played Sarah Walker in 91 episodes of the comedy series Chuck, and has also starred in Dexter, 24: Live Another Day, and The Handmaiden’s Tale. If you’re like me, however, you best know her as Miranda Lawson from the Mass Effect games.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Alfie Allen Joins Cast Of ‘The Predator’
  |  @   |

It’s hard to imagine anyone liking a character played by Alfie Allen. As Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones he seized Winterfell, and as Iosef Tarasov he killed John Wick’s dog.

Boyd Holbrook In Talks For New ‘Predator’ Movie
  |  @   |

Just one month ago it was reported that Benicio Del Toro was in talks to lead the cast of The Predator. One of the notes on the Del Toro talks was that he and Twentieth Century Fox had gone back and forth for a while before it was announced, and that his busy schedule was a major problem to solve in making the casting possible. A reason for this has not yet been given, but it’s safe to assume that the very same scheduling complications are at least partly responsible.

Despite the speed bump, Fox has decided not to delay the project, instead immediately going after someone new to star. It’s now being reported that Boyd Holbrook, star of Netflix’s Narcos and a villain in the next Wolverine movie Logan, has entered into negotiations to replace Del Toro in The Predator.

  |

At this year’s CinemaCon, writer-director Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) was briefly interviewed by Collider’s Steven Weinraub about the status of The Predator, a big-budget sequel/reboot/something or other in 20th Century Fox’s sci-fi action franchise that he is co-writing with Fred Dekker, the esteemed writer and director of the cult classics Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad (the latter also sports a co-writing credit from Black).

According to Black, The Predator will be his next film, once again putting his long-in-development Doc Savage feature on the back burner.
