To kick off Gamescom 2019 last night Geoff Keighley, the man behind the yearly Game Awards, hosted an opening night showcase.
Closing out this showcase was the great Hideo Kojima, who was on hand to share some new trailers for Death Stranding, his highly anticipated first non-Metal Gear game as director since 1994’s Policenauts—not counting the P.T. demo for the Silent Hill game we’ll never get to play, sadly. Kojima shared three new character trailers for the game, found below, one of which includes new peeks at gameplay footage.
For Gamescom 2018 week, Life is Strange and Vampyr developer DONTNOD Entertainment has released new trailer for two of their upcoming projects: Life is Strange 2 and Twin Mirror.
Life is Strange 2 is the five-episode sequel to their 2015 episodic graphic adventure. It follows a prequel to the original game released last year, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, and a free-to-play prequel to this sequel titled The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit which was released a couple of months back. Twin Mirror is a three-episode story-driven investigation game.
You can find more info and check out the two new trailers below.
I’ve never heard of A Plague Tale: Innocence from developer Asobo Studio, let alone seen anything from it. But it’s been in the works for a while now.
The game follows the journey of a brother and sister across 14th century France as the Black Death ravages the world around them. For Gamescom 2018, publisher Focus Home Interactive has shared a 16-minute gameplay demo to showcase how it looks. And it looks pretty darn good. Dark and depressing, but good nonetheless.
Continue below for more on the game and to check out the gameplay demo, along with some previously released trailers.
Back at E3 2017 we saw a trailer for a game called Transference. It comes from SpectreVision, a company co-founded by Elijah Wood which is known mainly for its film production (Cooties, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, The Boy), and Ubisoft. The game aims to blend the worlds of movies and video games into one experience, with both gameplay and live-action video. The cast includes Macon Blair, who starred in Blue Ruin, Green Room, and the upcoming Hold the Dark from director Jeremy Saulnier.
Another trailer was released for E3 2018 a couple of months back, and now a gameplay walkthrough video and demo trailer have been released for Gamescom 2018. You can find more info on the game, as well as both of those videos along with the E3 2018 trailer below if you missed it.
