Danai Gurira‘s Okoye may have had one too many scene-stealing moments in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, and let’s hope she can transfer all of that into some of the roles that she is circling now.
According to various reports the actor is in talks to star in Godzilla vs. Kong, and is also circling a role in Star Trek 4 – which would reunite her with her fellow Avengers: Infinity War co-star Chris Hemsworth. Check out the full story below.
Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers have chosen a director for their battle of the titans movie Godzilla vs. Kong.
Adam Wingard, best known for his work directing horrors/thrillers You’re Next, The Guest, Blair Witch, and segments of V/H/S, V/H/S/2, and The ABCs of Death, has signed on to helm the movie.
It’s been a little while since we’ve heard about the epic cinematic showdown Godzilla vs. King Kong that’s currently scheduled for release in 2020. Since the movie was announced monster movie fans, while excited by the idea, have wondered: just how in the hell does Kong stand even the slightest chance of hanging with the mighty Godzilla?
This article doesn’t answer that question, but it does give us a better idea of where things are heading. During Warner Brothers’ CineEurope presentation an extended preview of the next King Kong movie, titled Kong: Skull Island, was shown featuring stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, and John C. Reilly. But the real news came from director Jordon Vogt-Roberts, who revealed just how big this latest version of Kong will be. Hint: it dwarfs most other versions of the King of the Apes.
Last month brought with it exciting news for fans of monster movies: the previously announced prequel Kong: Skull Island was moving from Universal to Warner Brothers, setting up a truly monumental showdown of the titans between Godzilla and King Kong.
Now Legendary Pictures has officially confirmed their bold shared monster universe, which includes Godzilla, Kong, and others, and they have also confirmed release dates for the previously mentioned Skull Island, Godzilla 2, and a release window for the biggest of them all, Godzilla vs. King Kong. Full details can be found below.
But since Universal never officially entered production on Kong, it’s no skin off their back, and as a result of the move, WB has now signed a three-picture deal with Legendary that will have them distribute Skull Island, Godzilla 2, and the untitled Godzilla vs. King Kong film.
