Last week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, it was 1986 and they were looking into Operation Svarog, a secret Soviet project that Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) was involved in. Ray and Snart (Brandon Routh and Wentworth Miller) teamed up to get info from this beautiful Russian madwoman, who is trying to build a Russian Firestorm. Ray strikes out, but Snart piques her interest for a while. Predictable fight ensues and half of them are captured. Sara and Hawkgirl (Caity Lotz and Ciara Renee) train as a way for Hawkgirl to control the animal within. But Sara still has limited control over herself, and is humbled. The Timemaster confronts Hunter (Arthur Darvill), offering him immunity and safe passage for the team. But it’s a lie.

Last week on The Flash, Harrison Wells from Earth-2 saved The Flash!!! From a Sharkman! Woohoo! What is this, the Syfy channel? So happy that Tom Cavanagh is back. Now I don’t know if this is the real Harrison Wells, or if on Earth-2, Eobard Thawne also killed the real one. My guess is that this is the real one, because Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) never became The Flash. Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) did. Plus the S.T.A.R. Labs of Earth-2 was bustling and sunny. Earth-1’s lab gang during this entire episode is trying to find another other half to Dr. Stein (Victor Garber), because he is becoming instable. They find one in the form of Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh). Barry’s new love interest, Patty Spigot (Shantel VanSanten) is adorable.

The Flash Grodd Lives

The Flash
Season 1 Episode 21: “Grodd Lives”
Directed by Dermott Downs
Written by Grainne Godfree, Kai Yu Wu
Starring Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Rick Cosnett, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdez, Tom Cavanagh
The CW
Air Date: Tuesday, May 5th, 2015, 8:00pm

Last week’s The Flash was exactly what the title said – a trap. Except instead of the team tricking Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) into confessing to Barry’s mom’s murder, Dr. Wells had been playing them the whole time. He had screens set up, with cameras everywhere. The trap involved Cisco (Carlos Valdes) revisiting his alternate reality death experience he’s been dreaming about (Inception Vs. Dreamscape – classic line). There was another Barry (Grant Gustin) flashback to his coma days. A little spark of electricity, then and now, “sparked” Iris’s (Candice Patton) discovery. So having the exact face, build, and mannerisms as the man you lived with your whole life doesn’t give it away, but some static does? Whatever. I’ll forgive you because thank god everyone knows now. Eddie (Rick Cosnett) attempts to propose to Iris, despite Joe (Jesse L. Martin) not giving his blessing, but he is kidnapped by Reverse Flash. So should Joe and Barry send Reverse Flash a thank you card?

The Flash All Star Team Up

The Flash
Season 1 Episode 18: “All Star Team Up”
Directed by Kevin Tancharoen
Written by Grainne Godfree and Kai Yu Wu
Starring Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Rick Cosnett, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdez, Tom Cavanagh
The CW
Air Date: Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, 8:00pm

The Flash! Oh how we’ve missed you the last two weeks! We did have awesome videos to console us like “Superhero Fight Club,” an inside look at this episode, and even got a little preview of “All Star Team Up”.

Last week we got a mega geek treat with Mark Hammil as the Trickster. We all swooned when he told his protege, “I am your father.” On top of that, the Master-Padawan moment I referenced was Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) guiding Barry (Grant Gustin) on how to get to a speed to pass through solid objects, and all but said, “Feel the Force.” This led Barry to be sure that he was the Reverse Flash. Flashback to the night Barry’s mom was killed. Dr. Wells is… not Dr. Wells? We see the entire ugliness. Happy Dr. Wells was run off the road, his wife Tess died, Reverse Flash sucked the life out of him and assumed his identity, all because he got locked in the past after murdering Barry’s mom.

The Flash 1.18 “All Star Team Up” review: The verdict? This episode is deserving of the mega-buildup it generated. Each millisecond was hypnotizing.
