Each and every week, I, “Quicksilver!” Henchman 21 and “Scarlet Witch!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 29, 2015. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

Yes, there are comics out this week, but there are also events this week, with a certain big movie coming out and Free Comic Book Day on Saturday. But let’s not let all that distract us from the actual comics that are out this week, because there wouldn’t be movies or veritable holidays without the books. So, it’s time to assemble The GoD List!

Annihilator gives Morrison a chance to step out and work on something of his own. It also gives Morrison the chance to work with a frequent collaborator, Frazer Irving, which has led to some great comic books in the past.

Watch Now: Grant Morrison Discusses ‘Annihilator’
  |  @   |

If you’ve ever read anything by Grant Morrison before you know that his comics can be the very definition of high concept, which is very much the case with his new series from Legendary Comics, Annihilator.

In the six issue mini-series drawn by Frazer Irving, Hollywood screenwriter Ray Spass is down on his luck until he is recruited by one of his fictional creations to help save the universe from imploding. It’s as close to your standard Grant Morrison plot as you can get. Combine Morrison’s writing with Irving’s art and you get a hell of a package.

If you want a little more info on this series, you can watch a clip of Morrison talking about the series’ origin as well as giving a good explanation of the plot below.

Watch The First Trailer For ‘The Death Of Superman Lives: What Happened?’
  |

In January of last year Jon Schnepp, a Los Angeles-based director of the Adult Swim series Metalocalypse and The Venture Brothers as well as a contributor to the horror anthology feature The ABCs of Death, created a Kickstarter page to raise funds for a documentary he hoped to make about an aborted attempt to reboot the Superman franchise in the late 1990s. After raising the budget necessary to proceed Schnepp managed to secure interviews with several of the principal players and now The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? is very much a reality.

Schnepp has released the first trailer for the film, which you watch here below.
