Team building exercises can be the worst. But James Gunn has found a way to make it just a little bit entertaining by turning those team building exercises into a bloody, twisted game of survival in The Belko Experiment.
While the filmmaker was too busy working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to direct it himself, he handed over his script to director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek). Now we are finally getting our first look at the film in an all-new trailer. Check it out below.

Back in 2005, Greg McLean directed Wolf Creek, a low-budget horror film based on true events. It told the story of a group of backpackers who are targeted by a sadistic maniac in the Australian Outback. The film was raw, disturbing, and visceral. It grossed over $16 million on a paltry $1 million budget and is looked upon very positively by horror fans, mainly due to the charismatic performance of John Jarratt as Mick Taylor, one of horror’s most grinningly charismatic modern villains. After a sequel in 2013, McLean helped adapt his films to television, and the 6-episode miniseries launched in Australia in May of this year, with Jarratt back to star.
Now, the miniseries premieres in the U.S. later today on Pop TV.
Before making the blockbuster that was Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel, director James Gunn was best known for his indie flicks Super and the horror comedy Slither. He also wrote the screenplay for Zach Snyder’s remake of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead.
A few years back Gunn got the idea for another horror movie, and immediately got to work on the screenplay. It took some time to get here, but he has announced that the movie, which is titled The Belco Experiment, is now finally getting made. Unfortunately Gunn won’t be able to direct the movie himself like he did Slither, as he’s currently working on Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but Wolf Creek, Rogue, and Wolf Creek 2 director Greg McLean has been hired to make the movie.
