How Does Halloween Horror Nights’ ‘Walking Dead’ Maze Compare To The Real Sets? The Cast Weighs In
  |  @   |

Everyone got a real kick out of seeing Ellen‘s staff members nearly die of fright when they walked through Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights Walking Dead maze.

Earlier this month, some of the cast members of AMC’s The Walking Dead did a walkthrough of the maze, which includes parts of the town of Woodbury as well as in and around the prison set.

Check out the video here below, where stars Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, and Sonequa Martin-Green talk about their experience in the maze (there’s also a little walk-through footage) and how it compares to the real set of the television series filmed in Georgia.

‘Curse Of Chucky’ & ‘The Purge’ Scare Zones Coming To Halloween Horror Nights
  |  @   |

Two new original scare zones are coming to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood: Curse of Chucky, based on the upcoming sixth installment in the Child’s Play series, and The Purge: Survive the Night, based on the 2013 Universal film, The Purge.

In the Curse of Chucky scare zone, based on the direct-to-DVD and Blu-ray feature coming out on October 8, 2013, the tiny red-headed doll possessed with the spirit of a notorious serial killer will come to life to shock and horrify guests.

For The Purge: Survive the Night, theme park guests will enter the world of The Purge, where for one night all crime is legal – including murder – and no one is safe. Attendees will then run for their lives while experiencing some of the most memorable and terrorizing sequences from the film.

Universal’s The Purge, starring Ethan Hawke (Sinister, Insidious, Training Day) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), also makes its DVD and Blu-ray debut on October 8, 2013.

3D Black Sabbath Maze Coming To Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights
  |  @   |

Black Sabbath is coming to Universal Studios Hollywood!

This fall, the theme park’s famed Halloween Horror Nights will feature an all-original horror-themed 3D maze called Black Sabbath: 13 3D, a new attraction based on the legendary band’s lyrics that will also include scenes inspired by their latest album, 13.

While going through the attraction, guests will reportedly face Lucifer and his bride, blood-soaked dead bodies, and bubbling pools of “radioactive water,” all while songs inspired by classic Black Sabbath tunes “Luke’s Wall,” “Iron Man,” “Paranoid,” “War Pigs,” “Electric Funeral,” and the haunting “Black Sabbath” boom at high volumes through the confines of the maze.

The maze’s design contains “horrifying graveyards, disturbing madhouses, and bone-chilling battlefields,” along with imagery of the godfathers of heavy metal themselves – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler, the co-founders of Black Sabbath, currently on tour promoting 13, their first studio album together in 35 years.

Check out the announcement video here below, which includes a preview of the new attraction.

Rob Zombie To Bring ‘House Of 1000 Corpses’ To Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights
  |  @   |

People are fairly evenly split down the middle when it comes to Rob Zombie‘s brutal horror debut, House of 1000 Corpses. Many seem to love it while just as many have a pretty passionate hatred for it; it really just all depends on how the movie happened to play to you. Looking past your opinion on the film itself, you have to admit: the twisted and deranged world that Zombie created is nightmare-worthy visual accomplishment.

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced that they have partnered up with Zombie himself to create a brand new attraction to their popular yearly event, Halloween Horror Nights. The attraction will be called Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses: In 3D ZombieVision, and will allow entrants to throw on a pair of 3D glasses and make their way through terrifying locations from the movie including Captain Spaulding’s Museum of Monsters and Madmen, the Firefly family residence where our victims first meet the likes of Mama, Baby, and Otis before being turned into questionable works of art like Fishboy, and of course Dr. Satan’s underground lair.

Get a First Look at ‘The Wolfman’ At Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights
  |  @   |

As if you’d need a better reason to go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, the Hollywood theme park will be showing an exclusive preview of Universal’s re-imagining of its horror classic The Wolfman as part of the event’s “Terror Tram” experience.

Beginning on October 3, 2008, guests on the “Terror Tram: The Nightmare Tour” backlot attraction will get to see footage from the upcoming film starring Benicio Del Toro on the tram’s LED screens.

Halloween Horror Nights is a separate ticketed nighttime event ($54) at Universal Studios Hollywood and will run consecutive weekends beginning on Friday, October 3 through Saturday, November 1.

I’ve never been to this event in Hollywood, but I have been to the one in Orlando and I can tell you that it’s a real treat for movie lovers and a must for horror fans. And believe me, this is a scary experience — nothing like the Halloween event at the Disney parks. Beware of the hordes of zombies wielding chainsaws who chase after you, as well as all the other things that go bump in the night. Trust me, you will be screaming … and laughing, but definitely screaming.

For more details on Halloween Horror Nights, see the full press release here below.
