Halo 4

At the Penny Arcade Expo, a panel was held for the recently announced Halo 4, which is being developed by 343 Industries, the division established by Microsoft Game Studios to take up the reigns after Bungie concluded their work on the franchise with Halo: Reach.

Halo 4 is still a long, long way off, so 343 wasn’t able to talk a whole lot about the project, but they did have a couple of small things to share with eager fans, as well as some concept art from the early stages of the game’s production.

First of all, the game will begin a brand new trilogy of games, and 343 announced that this new trilogy has been named The Reclaimer Trilogy. And what is a “Reclaimer,” some of you might ask? Well…I haven’t the slightest clue. But the Halo Nation Wiki page does have a description, which you can see below along with the video of the various pieces of concept art shared.

Watch Now: New ‘Bulletstorm’ Footage; Pre-Order For Chance At ‘Gears Of War 3’ Beta!

Game publisher EA hit the twitterverse the other day to release a new video titled “Last Call” from game designer Epic Games’ new game, Bulletstorm. The video is a spoof of the Halo 3 ad titled “Believe,” using action figures a la Robot Chicken to show characters from the game.

At first I thought Epic was being tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at the ads they had made for the Gears of War games. Which I thought was weird since they have one more game to go. Then I realized that I’ve seen that advertising style before, in Halo. Now if they were making fun of Halo with a Gears ad it would make sense. They are both Microsoft Game Studio published games and Xbox exclusives, however Bulletstorm is being released by EA for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. I wonder what Microsoft thinks of all this? Both videos are embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

Watch Now: Live Action ‘Halo: Reach’ Trailer Released

Halo: Reach

The teams behind Halo are no strangers to creating some very cool live-action short movies to promote upcoming game titles. District 9 director Neil Blomkamp made one for Halo 3 that sparked hopes that a movie version of the popular game would finally happen. Then another one was made when Halo 3: ODST was on the way. Both of these videos can be seen here if you’ve never watched them before.

Now a new clip has been released for the upcoming Halo: Reach, which is supposedly to be the last game in the Halo universe that will be made (by Bungie anyway!). The video is very short, only running a little over a minute long, but it is still very much worth watching. It gives us a peek at the creation of a Spartan soldier, which is what our beloved Master Chief was in those first three games.

Put on your helmet, pick up your weapon of choice, and leap over to the other side to check out the new live-action promo for Halo: Reach!

Video Game Awards ’09: ‘Halo: Reach’ Trailer

Halo: Reach

Much like Batman: Arkham Asylum, Halo 3: ODST seems to have just been released not too long ago this year, but both games have follow-ups on the way. In Halo‘s case, however, we’ve known that the Bungie team was making a new game called Halo: Reach, and we had even seen a very tiny super-teaser trailer. At last night’s VGAs on Spike, a brand new teaser trailer for Halo: Reach was unveiled, and it gives us a nice little cinematic peek at the game and what we can expect.

Where Halo 3: ODST was a prequel to Halo 3 and was the first game where you did not play as the SPARTAN II soldier known as Master Chief, Halo: Reach is a prequel to the entire series, presumably based on the novel Halo: The Fall of Reach. The game will take place during the war between the Covenant and the Humans during the Battle of Reach. We will be playing as Lieutenant Noble Six, a member of Noble Team, which consists of SIX of the Master Chief-like SPARTAN II super-soldiers.

No word on if Master Chief himself will appear in this, the last Halo game that Bungie will make, but we will find out when the game is released in the Fall of 2010, or when it “Falls 2010,” as they like to put it.

Click over to watch the trailer for Halo: Reach!
