Back in January of 2018 we found out that Ryan Reynolds was developing a new movie based on the Hasbro board game Clue at 20th Century Fox, with his Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick in talks to pen the screenplay.
Now that movie may have found its director. Jason Bateman, who has starred in Arrested Development, Juno, Horrible Bosses, the Netflix series Ozark, and much more, has entered into early negotiations to direct Clue for Fox (and now Disney).
If you are looking for a big screen adaptation of a forgotten ’80s cartoon, then M.A.S.K. might be just your fix.
Paramount has been working on one for quite some time, and now they have found a new director. The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray will now helm the film, which features heroes wearing, you guessed it, masks. More on the story, below.
Never underestimate how convoluted the entire Transformers Cinematic Universe is. With each new installment, the franchise finds a way to disregard all of its rules and canon. Nothing makes sense. The only consistent thing about it was the Bayhem — explosions, sexual exploitation, racism, and the usual nonsensical material that comes with a Michael Bay film. But now that the director is out, we can hopefully look forward to something new for Transformers.
Especially when Paramount brought in a group of writers to pen up to 12 possible Transformers films. It’s still unclear if that is the number the studio is targeting. But if it is, then a possible reboot could just be the thing to help the franchise achieve Marvel Studios-like success. And that reboot may be in the works. More on the story below.
20th Century Fox and Ryan Reynolds are developing a new movie based on the board game Clue. The movie is the first project in a new three-year first-look deal Fox has signed with Reynolds, who stars in Deadpool and its upcoming sequel for the studio, and his production company Maximum Effort.
Currently in talks to write the screenplay is Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also wrote the script for Deadpool.
