Toward the end of last year Cinemax announced some release windows for new and returning shows. One of those shows was C.B. Strike starring Tom Burke (Only God Forgives) and Holliday Grainger (The Borgias), which was planned for a June 2018 debut.
An official premiere date has indeed been set for the miniseries, which is based on Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling‘s Cormoran Strike novels, and a trailer for the show was released recently.

We found out earlier this year that a sci-fi anthology series titled Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams was coming to Amazon from Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Cranston.
Now Amazon has set an official premiere date for the anthology, which features an excellent cast including Cranston, Steve Buscemi, Greg Kinnear, Anna Paquin, Terrence Howard, Timothy Spall, Maura Tierney, Janelle Monáe, Richard Madden, Holliday Grainger, Mel Rodriguez, Liam Cunningham, Vera Farmiga, Juno Temple, Jack Reynor, Essie Davis, Benedict Wong, Geraldine Chaplin, David Lyons, Annalise Basso, Mireille Enos, and Rachelle Lefevre.
Holliday Grainger stars as Miriam, the love interest to the young rookie member of the coast guard Bernie Weber (Chris Pine), in Craig Gillespie‘s The Finest Hours. The film is based on a true story of the Coast Guard making a daring rescue attempt off the coast of Cape Cod after a pair of oil tankers are destroyed during a blizzard in 1952.
The English actress talked to us and group of fellow journalists about the filming process, her portrayal of the real-life Miriam, working on her Boston accent, and much more. See what she had to say below.
Chris Pine is fine as a leading man. We have seen him captain a team in Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and the upcoming Star Trek Beyond. But his next film sees him something that is based on a story, and has him captaining a ship of a different kind. In The Finest Hours, the actor plays Bernie Webber, a man who rallies a team together to head straight into one of New England’s deadliest storms to save 30 stranded men aboard a sinking ship.
Disney has released a trailer for their upcoming rescue movie The Finest Hours. The movie tells the story of a small boat rescue mission in ocean waters off the coast of New England during a massive nor’easter in 1952.
Starring is Casey Affleck, Chris Pine, Holliday Grainger, Ben Foster, Eric Bana, and John Ortiz, with Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl, Fright Night [2011]) directing after making Million Dollar Arm for Disney last year. You can watch the trailer and read a full synopsis below.
