Hello There! This is Adam Frazier and you are listening to Skull-Face Island, the official movie podcast of Geeks of Doom! As always I’m joined by Step Up 2: The Streets fan club forum moderator, David Allen… and the reason Satan’s got his groove back, producer Tim Grant.

Last week we were visited (interrupted, actually) by The Prince of Darkness himself, Satan. He mentioned in passing that he was working with Disney and LucasFilm on developing some Star Wars Spin-Offs before he sat in with us to discuss our favorite romantic films. Well, it’s been a week and wouldn’t you know, we received some mysterious VHS tapes via Pterodactyl Mail that appear to contain some trailers for these top secret Star Wars projects… GET READY FOR CRAZINESS!
Identity Thief Directed by Seth Gordon
Written by Craig Mazin
Starring: Jason Bateman, Melissa McCarthy, Eric Stonestreet, Jon Favreau Universal Pictures
Rated R | 111 Minutes
Release Date: February 8, 2013
Directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), Identity Thief stars Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) as Sandy Bigelow Patterson, a mild-mannered accountant who goes on a cross-country quest to reclaim his stolen identity.
After the police refuse to help, Patterson realizes that his only choice is to travel to Winter Park, Florida, catch the imposter (Melissa McCarthy, Bridesmaids), and bring her back to Denver to clear his name.
This deceptively harmless-looking fraudster isn’t going without a fight, though, having grown accustomed to living a life of luxury and swindling her way out of every jam. Getting her back to Denver will be a struggle, especially when a bounty hunter (Robert Patrick) and some ruthless mob enforcers (T.I., Genesis Rodriguez) get involved.
After turning in a scene-stealing performance in Bridesmaids last year, Melissa McCarthy signed on for Seth Gordon‘s Identity Thief. McCarthy stars opposite Jason Bateman in a comedy about a nitwit who steals the identity of an uptight businessman. Now we got the first trailer for the film, which you can check out here below.
Identity Thief arrives in theaters on February 8, 2013, but it’s a bit strange to see a comedy with so much potential being released during a time when the box office isn’t exactly booming. But Identity Thief could be a sleeper hit that no one sees coming. McCarthy has already established herself as a solid comedian, and Bateman never fails to make us laugh. The film also stars Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet, Genesis Rodriguez, John Cho, Robert Patrick, and Eric Stonestreet.
2013 will bring us another year of incredible movies and Universal has announced a couple of release date changes for their upcoming titles: Identity Thief, Jurassic Park 3D, About Time, 47 Ronin, Kick-Ass 2, R.I.P.D..
Of course with every date change comes the question of the state of the movie itself. So while some of these release date shifts may come as a shock, others are not so surprising.
Let’s start of chronologically. Seth Gordon‘s comedy Identity Thief starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy will be released on February 8th, 2013. The Jurassic Park 3D release will open in theaters on Aprtil 5th, 2013, while Richard Curtis‘ romantic time-travel feature, About Time, starring Rachel MacAdams, has been set for a May 10, 2013 release.
