Disney/Marvel has released the second official trailer for Captain America: Civil War, the closing installment of the Captain America film trilogy. Chris Evans returns to reprise his role as the titular Captain America, who finds himself at odds with his best friend Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) when he decides to back a government initiative that would allow nations oversight on when they could deploy the Avengers. The conflict puts these two heroes at odds and forces them to recruit fellow Avengers and friends to fight on their respective sides.
We’ve recently posted twosets of posters that reveal who is on Team Cap and who is on Team Iron Man. As you may have already seen in the trailers, there has been a certain webslinging hero who has been missing from the entire marketing campaign. So will he make an appearance in this trailer? The short answer: Yes!
With a title like Captain America: Civil War, heroes that were once allies are now enemies fighting for a cause. In this case, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) believes that the Avengers have put the world through enough with their vigilante actions and unchecked heroics, and supports a new initiative where a governing body would determine when they would deploy the heroes. However, Captain America (Chris Evans) believes in the opposite. Then there is the fact that his friend, the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) has been discovered, and there are governments who want him to stand trial for his crimes. A lot will happen that will force these two to go to battle against each other, and now, a new set of released posters will give us an idea of who is for a government oversight and who is against it.
As the title may suggest, Captain America: Civil War will be an adaptation of the Marvel comic book story arc of the same name that pits its title character against Iron Man, a friend and ally, over differing ideals of how The Avengers should be governed. Such an event would require more than just the amount of characters you would see in these solo films. This is an ensemble event, and as such you would need to bring major characters from previous films to go into battle amongst one another.
But you’ll also have to introduce some new characters, and Civil War does just that by adding Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), and a mysterious character to be played by Martin Freeman. There were a few rumors surrounding Freeman’s character, one of the most notable ones being that he is a U.S. representative for the fictional African nation of Wakanda, where T’Challa aka Black Panther hails from. This has been confirmed in a brand new report. There are also a few new images to look at which feature Frank Grillo in full-on heavy Crossbones gear, Iron Man and Captain America looking into each other’s eyes, and Scarlet Witch conjuring some chaos magic. Check it out in the image gallery here below.
From the moment we heard that Iron Man 3 would feature the Mark XLVII (47) armor, we knew that there would be a wide array of different armors possessing different capabilities. But those armors have stayed away from prying eyes and the only new armor was the Gold with red trim equipped with the Extremis technology seen in the trailers. Now new concept art has revealed the space armor and the Hulkbuster. One looks very cool, but the other not so much. Guess this is why they call it concept art.
Check out both armors here after the jump.
There is no confirmation that both of these armors will appear in the film, but the space armor toy appeared online a few weeks back, and with the release of this new image it seems to led us to believe that we will see the space armor in the film. The space armor makes sense especially since Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has been traumatized after the events of The Avengers.
Those lucky enough to attend the Cannes Film Festival got to see a sneak peek of Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming film Django Unchained. As you can imagine, those who saw it said it was nothing short of brilliant. So while we await footage from the movie to appear – it has been confirmed that there is a trailer attached to Prometheus – we got a collection of new photos, which should be more than enough to whet your appetite.
Tarantino’s spaghetti western-esque film star follows Django (Jamie Foxx) has he partners up with a German dentist turn bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from twisted plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).
