Movie theater franchises have been adding more and more immersive theater experiences to their screenings: There’s the ever-popular IMAX (in its various forms), AMC has the Dolby Cinema, and Regal Cinemas has launched a few new options with ScreenX and 4DX. I spent the summer checking out cinema chain’s answers to slumping attendance, focusing mainly on what 4DX has to offer.

Andy Muschietti‘s IT was one huge surprise as it wisely split Stephen King‘s epic novel of the same name into two parts, with the first being a pure coming of age film which saw a group of young kids spend their summer vacation fighting an evil which often takes the form of a clown named Pennywise.
Though they are successful, Pennywise promised to come back 27 years later, and they, in turn, promised to unite as one to fight the clown when it returned. This only set the stage for IT Chapter Two, which not only completes their story but promised to be an epic battle between good and evil.
IT Chapter Two, the sequel to 2017’s IT Chapter One, hits theaters next month and is the conclusion of the big-screen horror adaptation of the best-selling Stephen King novel It. Chapter One introduced audiences to “The Losers Club,” a group of young friends in Derry, Maine, who come up against the evil clown-faced Pennywise. Chapter Two picks up 27 years later and sees the return of the Losers as adults to their New England hometown to once against face their deadly foe.
Warner Bros. has released a 3-minute featurette for Chapter Two called “Coming Home,” where author Stephen King, directorAndy Muschietti, and the adult cast members talk about the upcoming sequel and what it means for the friends to come home under these terrible circumstances. Watch the featurette here below.
Those who are overly excited for the upcoming release of It Chapter Two will have a chance to float once again next month when It Chapter One returns to theaters for a limited engagement.
Though 2017’s Chapter One is already out on Blu-ray, the film’s return to theaters will have something the home editions don’t: a post-credits reveal that includes 8 minutes of new footage from the upcoming sequel.
