Just moments after Disney announced that Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg would reunite for Indiana Jones 5, comes word that the studio has narrowed down their shortlist for actors to play the lead role in the young Han Solo film to five.
Last year it was revealed that around 2,500 actors had auditioned for the role, indicating that Disney was open to any idea. That list shrunk, with eight A-listers vying for the role. Now that list has gotten even smaller. According to various reports, there are five actors now in contention for the role. Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie The Eagle), Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Blake Jenner (Glee), and Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) are the five actors up for the role. More on the story below.

In Tower Block, it has been three months since a young teenager was beaten to death in a rundown apartment block building on the outskirts of London, with none of the few remaining tenants offering any eyewitness accounts to the police. Now, the apartment is set for demolition and the last of those tenants, who all live on the top floor, are refusing to vacate. And on this Saturday morning, that decision may cost them all their lives.
As the sun rises on the tower, an unknown assailant begins killing all the tenants with a high powered sniper rifle. Those that survive the first wave of attacks begin a series of desperate plans to get out of the building, however with each attempt they find that their attacker has anticipated that move and blocked their path, or worse. As the survivors’ numbers dwindle will they ever discover just who, and more importantly why, they have been targeted for extermination?
The status of the Josh Trank-directed Fantastic Four reboot remains in flux, but 20th Century Fox is more than determined to get the ball rolling and head into production. Minor setbacks like giving Simon Kinberg to do the rewrites have prevented the film from actually moving forward. But a new shortlist of actors who are testing for the lead roles gives us a sign that the film could make its March 5, 2016 release date.
Variety maintains that Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) is still in the running for Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, and add that Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Jack O’Connell (300: Rise Of An Empire), Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now), Saorise Ronan (Hanna), Kate Mara (House of Cards), and Margot Robbie (The Wolf Of Wall Street) will all be testing for lead roles in the upcoming film in the near future.
