Based on the 1994 animated film of the same name, pioneering filmmaking techniques have been used to bring the iconic characters to the big screen in a whole new way. In addition to the new posters, Disney has also released a special preview of the upcoming film that highlights all of the visual effects that are used to bring these animals to life. The marketing campaign for The Lion King has been leaning towards nostalgia by giving us the updated looks of the animated original. Jon Favreau directs this newly updated kinda sorta live-action take on the Walt Disney Animation Studio classic, which sees Simba learning what it takes to be a true king.

Now the studio has just released the first look at the new Lion King in the form of a teaser trailer. Another fan favorite movie being brought back to theaters by Fathom Events is The Sandlot, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
The cult classic is not just a baseball movie but an all-around great summertime flick well worth watching around this time each year. In addition to seeing the movie on the big screen again or for the first time, these screenings will also include a preview for an upcoming documentary about The Sandlot.
