Though the first Amazing Spider-Man did not really hint at it, the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2 tells us that the series will culminate where the villains from the respective films band together to fight Spider-Man. Recently, Chris Cooper revealed that he only had a small role in the second film, which would be expanded upon in the third. Paul Giamatti also has a small role in the sequel, but it is suspected that he has signed on for at least one more installment. Speculation of a Sinister Six team started when Sony announced that they would be releasing two more Amazing Spider-Man films.
