‘Pride, Prejudice And Zombies’ Movie Adaptation Returns From The Dead
  |

Just to show you can’t keep a zombie movie of indeterminate quality down, the long-in-development screen adaptation of Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, Seth Grahame-Smith‘s (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) mash-up of Jane Austen‘s beloved 1813 novel that is in the public domain and the zombie horror genre first published to great acclaim and sales four years ago, is back on track for the umpteenth time.

Panorama Media is joining up with Darko Entertainment, Handsomecharlie Films, and producer Allison Shearmur of Allison Shearmur Productions to finally make the Pride, Prejudice and Zombies movie a reality. Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, once mooted to play the female lead Elizabeth Bennet, will produce the movie for Darko Entertainment. David O. Russell, the director of Three Kings and The Silver Linings Playbook, is writing the screenplay and at one point was attached to direct. Other directors who have attempted – and failed – to bring Pride to life include Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) and Mike White (Year of the Dog).

Was ‘Pride and Prejudice’ Author Jane Austen Murdered?
  |  @   |

We’ve seen it happen in entertainment numerous time: an author’s fictional written worlds somehow become a reality, and the author must then use their knowledge on said worlds and characters to figure out just what’s going on.

This time, however, it’s not a story.

Crime author Lindsay Ashford has reason to believe that famed author Jane Austen did not die of an illness as is suspected, but that she may have actually been murdered. Ashford went to Austen’s home village of Chawton in Hampshire, England three years ago to begin writing her new novel in the library of Chawton House, the former home of Austen’s brother, Edward. While there she read many of Austen’s numerous letters, and, one day, spotted something remarkably suspicious.

‘Fright Night’ Director Craig Gillespie Steps In For ‘Pride And Prejudice And Zombies’
  |  @   |

The movie adaptation of author Seth Grahame-Smith‘s strange combination of zombies and Jane Austen‘s classic, Pride and Prejudice, has faced a few complications on its road to the silver screen…specifically when it came to finding a director for the job, which has failed twice now.

Perhaps a third time will be the charm; it’s being reported that Craig Gillespie has now been hired to direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Gillespie has previously directed Lars and the Real Girl, Mr. Woodcock, and episodes of The United States of Tara. His next movie will be the upcoming remake of the 1985 horror favorite, Fright Night, which stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, and Toni Collette.
