The Jimmy Kimmel School Of Perfect Acting (Video)
  |  @   |

“My name is Jim Kimmel” [dramatic pause] “and I teach.”

Jimmy Kimmel hosted a special late night edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live after the 87th Annual Academy Awards last night with this “seriously” guffaw-worthy bit called “The Kimmel School of Perfect Acting” about “the greatest acting school there ever was…or ever will be,” according to Benedict Cumberbatch. It included testimonials from Cumberbatch, Lupita Nyong’o, Mila Kunis, Harvey Weinstein, Jeff Bridges, Kristen Bell, Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Anniston, Gary Oldman, Sean Penn, Matt Damon (excuse me – Matt Damen), Emily Blunt, and more.

New ‘Seventh Son’ Trailer, Poster, and Photos
  |  @   |

We got a glimpse at Seventh Son back in July 2013 at SDCC when the film was supposed to be released the following January. That didn’t happen, for various reasons, but now Legendary Pictures has released a new trailer, poster, and photos for the movie.

Check them out here below.

Loosely based on The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch (the U.S. title), the first book in Joseph Delaney’s The Wardstone Chronicles series of novels, the Sergei Bodrov-directed fantasy-adventure stars Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore, Djimon Hounsou, and Kit Harrington (the Game Of Thrones star didn’t make in on to the poster). Seventh Son is now scheduled for a release in 3D and IMAX 3D on February 6, 2015, with Legendary’s new partner Universal Pictures as the distributor.

SDCC 2014: ‘The Giver’ Panel
  |  @   |

Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly introduced the panel for The Giver, on Wednesday’s San Diego Comic Con panel in Hall H. The book that the film is based on, Lois Lowry‘s groundbreaking 1993 novel was arguably the prototype for the recent trend of Young Adult dystopian sci-fi that includes book series like The Hunger Games and Divergent.

Director Philip Noyce introduced, via a pre-recorded video message, footage from the film which gave a great overview of the false utopia of the world of The Giver and the discovery of its dark history.

Breznican then introduced author Lois Lowry, Brenton Thwaites, who plays Jonas, Jeff Bridges, who plays The Giver, Odeya Rush, who plays Fiona, and producer Nikki Silver.

SDCC 2013: ‘Seventh Son’ Panel
  |  @   |

Swords. Dragons. Magic. These are elements that can be found in a lot of successful properties these days, from The Hobbit to Game of Thrones. Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures are staking their claim on the fantasy genre with Seventh Son, based on The Wardstone Chronicles series of novels by Joseph Delany. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Antje Traue (Man of Steel), Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), and Ben Barnes (The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian), who were all on hand at San Diego Comic-Con today to discuss the movie. Joining the actors was director Sergei Bodrov, and they all had a wealth of information to share on the film.

Jeff Bridges came out first, and he explained the basic plot of the story, saying that it is “chock full ‘o myth” and magic. Then we got a solid chunk of footage put together for Comic-Con from the film, with the main characters fighting a giant boggard, fighting dragons, fighting witches, basically lots of fighting. Ben Barnes’ character, Tom Ward, becomes the apprentice to Jeff Bridges character, Master Gregory. The plot deals with Master Jeremy and Ward face down a horrible witch played by Julianne Moore. The clip was filled with a lot of excitement and all the classic elements of great fantasy films.
