Following the release of the first trailer, The Weinstein Company has released seven new character posters for Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight. The film is Tarantino’s eighth directorial effort, takes us back to a few years after the Civil War (no not the Captain America movie), and sees a bounty hunter John “The Hangman” Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), forced to hunked down with six strangers when a blizzard hits Wyoming.
This Christmas, you can look forward to gathering your friends and family for a heartwarming trip to the movies. There you can watch the masterful Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight unleash what’s sure to be a violent, blood-soaked trip to the West. And it will be available in 70mm Ultra Panavision. Actually, it will only be available to see at Christmas in 70mm and wider release on January 8th.
The movie stars Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Demian Bichir, Walton Goggins, and Bruce Dern, and you can watch the first teaser trailer for the movie below.
A panel for director Quentin Tarantino‘s second film in the western genre, The Hateful Eight, was held at San Diego Comic-Con.
During the panel, seven minutes of footage that introduced the characters were shown to the audience. Descriptions of the characters and more information shared during the panel can be found below, along with a new poster for the movie.
Studio turn-out over at San Diego Comic-Con may be small this year, but this gives other films an opportunity to shine. Aside from our excitement for WB’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice panel, as well as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part II, there’s Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight. In anticipation of the film’s panel, EW has unveiled a brand new image from the film, which features Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson traveling by stagecoach through what appears to be a nasty snowstorm. Tarantino also shares some info on what serves as an inspiration for the film. More on this below.
The Weinstein Company has just announced that Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight is set to open in limited 70mm release in theaters on Christmas Day. THR adds that the film will then make its wide digital release in theaters on January 8, 2016. More on the story below.
We’ve known that Tarantino has been hard at work retrofitting 50 theaters to be able have proper 70mm showings. This is very important, as it will give audiences a theatrical experience like no other.
