Whether or not Quentin Tarantino is telling us the truth about his retirement he’s been pondering after his tenth film remains to be seen, but if it is true, we’re going to have to enjoy every last minute of it because he has just announced what his ninth film will be about.
For his “penultimate” film, Tarantino has decided that it will focus on the Manson family murders. Quite a subject, and one that will probably have another unique take. Check out more about the film, below.
The X-Men saga films are never short on star power. From Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart to Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Jennifer Lawrence, these films have found a way to rope in some very high-profile names into their superhero universe. And now you can add Jessica Chastain to that list. Reports are saying that the Academy Award-nominated actress is currently in negotiations to play the lead villain in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
A major studio changing a scheduled release is common practice within the industry. But when it comes to pulling a major tentpole sequel off the schedule, that is something to worry about.
A new report confirms Paramount has pulled World War Z 2 and Friday the 13th of their scheduled release, with the latter later reported to be shut down completely. Both films were a part of Michael Bay‘s Platinum Dunes production company. However, they have announced a release date for Darren Aronofsky‘s mother!, starring Jennifer Lawrence. More on the story below.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has released an official trailer for Passengers, an upcoming sci-fi epic starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) and Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World).
The movie is set on a giant space ship which is transporting humans to a new home many year away. To make it there alive, everyone is suspended in sleep. But two of the ship’s occupants wake up early. Far too early. Also starring is Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex, Frost/Nixon) along with Oscar nominees Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, What’s Love Got to Do with It) and Andy Garcia (The Godfather Part III, Ocean’s Eleven).

“Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.”
If there’s one thing director Bryan Singer achieves with X-Men: Apocalypse, it’s channeling the excess and indulgence of the 1980s. The ninth installment in the X-Men series has too much of everything, including thinly written characters, stale end-of-the-world scenarios, and overblown CGI annihilation.
