Like a lot of Walt Disney animated films, The Lion King has stood the test of time in its own way. The celebrated piece is a powerful film that has beautiful animation, resonating themes, catchy songs, and plenty of charm to boot. It’s no wonder that it is among our favorite films. Now, The Lion King gets, yet another, re-release in “The Circle Of Life” edition as part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection. Like many of these re-releases, this one is chock full of bonus extras that will have fans fall in love once more and introduce this lovely film to a new generation who may have never seen it before. You can’t really review The Lion King. It’s one of the crown jewels of Disney’s line of timeless hand–drawn animated classics, and my own personal favorite of the bunch.

It’s jam–packed with a great cast of voice actors, gorgeous and vibrant environments, settings, and colors, and some of the most unforgettable songs any movie has ever had. Not to mention the wonderful story of a young lion cub who’s tricked into leaving the lands he was to one day become king of after an incident involving his stoic father–king and his deviously evil uncle.

Disney: Winnie The Pooh (2011) movie posterWinnie the Pooh
Written by Burny Mattinson
Based on the characters by A.A. Milne
Featuring the voices of John Cleese, Craig Ferguson, Jim Cummings
Rated G
Disney Pictures
Release Date: July 15, 2011

If you are tired of seeing a summer blockbuster involving superheroes, wizards, or transforming robots, perhaps a trip through the Hundred Acre Wood would do you some good. For the first time in six years, Winnie the Pooh returns to the big screen in a brand new feature from Disney Pictures simply titled Winnie the Pooh.

Pooh’s friend Eeyore’s tail has gone missing and it is up to Pooh to find it. Pooh discovers soon that a tail is not the only thing that is missing. It seems his human friend Christopher Robin has also disappeared, leaving a curious note behind. Where has Christopher gone? Does it have anything to do with Eeyore’s missing tail? And who or what is a “Backson?”

The film, which is based off of three Pooh stories written by creator A.A. Milne, doesn’t try hard to reinvent the wheel. The characters are not rebooted or remade for the new generation. Its sole purpose is to tell an entertaining, by the book story about Winnie the Pooh and accomplishes this task with flying colors.

Jonah Hex Motion ComicWith the upcoming Jonah Hex live- action film (out in theaters on June 18) starring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox, it seems like the perfect time to visit some adventures from Mr. Hex’s past. Warner Premiere believes the best way to do that is to buy their 8th motion comic, Jonah Hex Motion Comics.

Based on the comics written by John Albano and drawn by Tony DeZuniga, these new Jonah Hex Motion Comics are perfect for all you western lovers out there. If you recall, Warner Premiere is the same company that brought us both the Batman: Black and White and Watchmen Motion Comics series.

Over the course of 7 episodes, which will lead up to the theatrical release, the Motion Comics specifically cover three archival stories from Jonah Hex’s comics past. The first five episodes are adapted from the graphic novel Two Gun Mojo, which features Jonah Hex seeking justice and revenge against Doc Williams and his gang over a murdered friend. The other two stories are taken from the 1970’s comics The Gunfighter and The Hangin’ Woman. Viewers should be aware these stories are re-colored and animated for the first time.
