Those watching the Oscars last night might have caught a glimpse of Jon Favreau‘s The Lion King. The film is a CGI remake of the 1994 Academy Award-winning animated film that centered on a young lion cub being groomed to be king of Pride Rock. Disney’s animated classic The Lion King has been reimagined as a new live-action style film from director Jon Favreau, who helmed the studio’s live-action makeover of The Jungle Book. Now the studio has just released the first look at the new Lion King in the form of a teaser trailer. Jon Favreau‘s The Lion King is already being hailed as one of the most anticipated films of 2019. We saw a small snippet of the live-action take of the animated opening sequence at D23, which pretty much tells us that this will be a visually stunning film. But that was just the beginning.
