Yes, there are multiple Joker films that are currently in development. There is even a spinoff that is completely separate from the DCEU from Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix as the title character. And then there is that Joker and Harley film.
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are currently working on the script and have given interested fans an update on their work. According to them, the film will be a like Bad Santa meets This Is Us. Check out what they had to say here below.
I sure hope you like the Joker and Harley Quinn, geeks. Because a whole lot of them are incoming. We first saw the Batman villains together in Suicide Squad, played by Jared Leto and Margot Robbie. The actors will also be reprising the roles in the upcoming Suicide Squad 2 and Gotham City Sirens. On top of all of that, we just found out two days ago that a Joker origins movie separate from the established DC extended universe is being developed. That project, however, will cast someone new to play the diabolical prankster.
Now comes word of a new project in the works. The movie, which doesn’t have a title yet, will focus on the Joker and Harley Quinn characters, with Leto and Robbie due to play them here as well.
Just when you thought that the DCEU had things in order, they lose another director. Jaume Collet-Serra (Non-Stop, The Shallows), who was in the running to direct Suicide Squad 2, has now dropped out.
However, he will be boarding Disney’s Jungle Cruise, the Dwayne Johnson-starring vehicle that is based on the popular Disneyland ride of the same name. More on the story below.
Following the news that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would start shooting Disney’s Jungle Cruisenext year, comes a photo showing just how committed he is to the project.
The actor snapped a shot of himself on board a Jungle Cruise full of Disney World park guests. But he wasn’t there just to mingle. In fact, he commandeered the vessel and was the skipper for the duration of the ride. More on the story below.
Sure Disneyland has a wealth of rides inspired by characters and films, but they also have some original ones as well. With the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, it was only a matter of time before another ride got the big-screen adaptation treatment. Jungle Cruise is another one of those rides. The film was originally a Tim Allen and Tom Hanks-starring vehicle, but now has turned into something with an action slant now that Dwayne Johnson is the leading star. But with his workload, it was hard to imagine Jungle Cruise would ever happen. Now there is confirmation that the film will start production in 2018. More on the story below.
