Disney’s The Lion King (2019), Jon Favreau‘s reimagining of the animated feature of the same name, may not have been met with the same unanimous praise its animated counterpart received, but it was a hit, grossing over a billion dollars worldwide. Now the film, which features cutting-edge technology to turn the once-animated animals into photorealistic ones, is getting a home entertainment release.

Featuring hours of bonus features that showcase the cutting-edge technology behind the stunning savanna and a special look at the music of The Lion King, the film will be available on Digital 4K Ultra HD and Movies Anywhere on October 11, 2019, and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on October 22, 2019.

There’s no doubt that Spider-Man fans were holding on to the hope that Sony and Disney could find some sort of common ground after they broke up. Sony seemed to place the blame on Disney for being too greedy, while star Tom Holland remained optimistic about the situation.

There has never been live-action Star Wars television series. But come November, that will all change when The Mandalorian will debut along with a number of other original shows on Disney+, Disney’s exclusive streaming service. This will be one of Disney’s flagship shows that can only be seen on Disney+, and the studio hopes to use all of that anticipation and excitement to draw subscribers to their service.

Star Wars fans got a first look at The Mandalorian earlier this year when showrunner and executive producer Jon Favreau presented some footage and shared some info about the show. Now he’s back, with the debut of the teaser trailer; plus, and he brought along some of the cast to the D23 Expo today to show off what they can expect to see.

But not only did Favreau use these sets of tools for the reimagining, but he also brought in a cast that would help carry the film. Disney’s The Lion King (2019) isn’t quite the live-action adaptation of the animated classics we’ve come to know. Instead, it is a reimagined version that takes the lessons learned from The Jungle Book and uses new tools and technologies to tell a beloved story in an all-new way. So much so this new Lion King looks like a DisneyNature title.
