The History Channel recently announced some exciting news about their hit show, Vikings. To no one’s surprise, the fictional account of real Viking warrior, Ragnar Lothbrok, played by the talented Travis Fimmel, has been renewed for a 5th season. On top of that, Jonathan Rhys Myers (The Tudors, Dracula), who will star in The History Channel’s upcoming event, Roots, has been cast.
More casting news has just been announced for the upcoming miniseries, Roots, based on Alex Haley’s 1976 epic novel, that took the world by storm, during that time. Forest Whitaker (Lee Daniels’ The Butler, The Last King of Scotland), Anna Paquin (True Blood, X-Men), Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, Dracula), and Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog, The Good Wife) have been tapped to play Fiddler, Nancy Holt, Tom Lea, and Kizzy respectively.
Dracula is coming to NBC this Fall with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the title character. Now, NBC has released a special music video trailer series with music from Depeche Mode. You can watch the trailer here below.
The scenes shown in the trailer look quite graphic in the sex and violence department, so it doesn’t look to be watered down.
The hour-long drama, which films in Budapest, also stars Jessica DeGouw as Mina Murray, Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Jonathan Harker, Nonso Anozie (Xaro Xhoan Daxos on the HBO series Game of Thrones) as R.M. Renfield, and Katie McGrath as Lucy Westenra.

In a press release sent out it has been announced that NBC has ordered 10 episodes of Dracula, a new drama series that will star Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the iconic vampire character.
