Last week at San Diego Comic-Con, the cast and creators of AMC’s hit series Preacher hit the main stage panel in Hall H. Based on the graphic novels by Garth Zen is and Steve Dillon, Preacher was right at home. Hosted by the network’s favorite interviewer/host Chris Hardwick, the panel was introduced with a huge New Orleans style jazz band playing them in. They panel included co-creator and producer Seth Rogen, and cast members Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Graham McTavish, Ian Colletti and others. The panel set up the second half of the show’s sophomore season, gave a new trailer, and provided tons of news and fun bits.
Check out some of the highlights below from SDCC 2017.
Preacher on AMC is one of the craziest hours on TV week in week out. Approaching the midway point of its second season, each episode has offered jaw dropping scenes, combining Tarantino level violence with laugh out loud comedy. This season features a search for God himself, an unstoppable cowboy from Hell, and actual Hell where a character called “Arseface” routinely talks with Hitler. This week at San Diego Comic Con, the gang from Preacher showed off a trailer for the second half of the season, which focused on The Grail, an evil organization competing with our heroes to find God. The only member of the Grail we got a close look at was Lara Featherstone (Julie Ann Emery). Back in episode 3, Emery first was a sultry blonde lounge singer who attracted the attention of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper). She proved way more than meets the eye, after sharing some intense screen time with Jesse, the audience watched as Lara ditched her wig and revealed her true identity. Last week, I got a chance to speak with Julie Ann Emery about her role on Preacher, the show, and her career.

One of the best parts of being at San Diego Comic Con is getting sneak peaks into all your favorite shows and movies, and watching debuting trailers. AMC’s Preacher is a series that lives and breathes all aspects of Comic Con. Born from the pages of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s graphic novels, and adapted by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Preacher is near half way through its second season. And what a season so far.
At the end of season 1 of AMC’s hit series Preacher, the sign outside the Annville, Texas church read “Today: Meet God, Tomorrow: TBD.” Well, the “to be determined” part was incredibly accurate… Annville blew up… ALL OF IT! Luckily, that was behind the dust of the car carrying the trio of Preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Oscar nominee Ruth Negga), and drunk Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). They are on the search for God… no literally, God is missing. Jesse is possessed by Genesis, a half demon half angel force that allows him to control anyone. Oh and yeah, there’s a cowboy from Hell chasing him. Ok, I think we’re caught up.
