‘Jurassic World 2’ Could Have A $260 Million Production Budget According To Director
  |  @   |

Last week, A Monster Calls director J.A. Bayona confirmed that Jurassic World will become a trilogy and that Colin Trevorrow would still be very much a part of the creative process despite his obligations to other projects. Now, as far as sequels go, the film is going to get bigger. That’s not at all surprising. The first Jurassic World cost up to $150 million, and that’s not accounting for the marketing costs. Remember all those shameless production placements thrown into the actual film, like “Verizon Wireless Presents The Indominus Rex” or “Magaritaville?”

While the production budget is expected to go up, a new report says it’s expected to go way up. According to Bayona, the budget for the Jurassic World sequel would be $260 million, which would be a $110 million increase from the previous film. Check out the full story below.

J.A. Bayona Confirms ‘Jurassic World’ Will Be A Trilogy
  |  @   |

Last year, Colin Trevorrow‘s Jurassic World exceeded everyone’s wildest expectations by grossing $1.67 billion worldwide. As such, Universal Pictures announced that there would be a sequel. But with Trevorrow otherwise preoccupied with The Book Of Henry and Star Wars: Episode IX, the responsibility of directing the next Jurassic World would have to go to J.A. Bayona.

Bayona was named the director of the sequel a few months back, and while at the Toronto International Film Festival recently, the filmmaker confirmed that Jurassic World will be a direct sequel. See below for more on the story and who else will be involved in making the film.

‘The Orphanage’s Juan Antonio Bayona Is The New ‘Jurassic World 2’ Director

Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World was a huge summer hit. Its success was thanks in part to director Colin Trevorrow, who had helped resurrect and reboot the iconic franchise. However, Trevorrow confirmed that he wouldn’t return to direct a sequel. But not because there was creative disagreements or anything like that, but that he and producer Steven Spielberg had agreed he would do one film. His confirmation to direct Star Wars: Episode IX pretty much put an end to any hope that he would direct a Jurassic World 2. So that left the studio in a position to look for a new director.

And it seems as though they have found one. A new report says The Orphanage helmer Juan Antonio Bayona is now set to direct Jurassic World 2. More on the story below.

‘Jurassic World’ Confirmed As A Trilogy
  |  @   |

With Jurassic World being the top grossing movie this year, Universal Pictures announcing that a sequel would follow did not come as a surprise. We know that film star Chris Pratt is already signed on for multiple films, as is Bryce Dallas Howard. However, Colin Trevorrow is unlikely to return considering he is busy directing Book of Henry, and will move on to directing Star Wars: Episode IX right after. But the filmmaker did talk about how the sequel would expand on the idea of weaponizing dinosaurs for military purposes.

While the sequel is continuing to be developed, it seems that we will be getting more than just one Jurassic World sequel, in fact we will be getting a trilogy. More on the story below.

Colin Trevorrow Talks ‘Jurassic World 2’ Plot
  |  @   |

The success of Jurassic World has opened the door for bold new possibilities for the franchise. Though director Colin Trevorrow confirms he won’t be making a return trip for a sequel, he will be writing it. However, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return to reprise their roles. With the film still out in theaters, the director isn’t quite done making the press rounds to promote the film, and has even gone as far as talking about the sequel.

Universal has already dated Jurassic World 2 (or to some Jurassic Park 5) for a June 22nd, 2018 release, and while some may think it may be too early to go into the plot in great detail, Trevorrow is talking about how it may be more than just a film about “dinosaurs chasing people on an island.”

More on the story below.
