Disney Channel movies, no matter if they are good or bad, tend to be very popular and overwatched, for a few reasons:
1) They star established Disney Channel TV Stars.
2) They have catchy pop tunes, sung by Disney Channel TV Stars.
3) They are re-aired twice a day, every day, for 6 months to a year (or until the sequel and/or next Disney Channel movie).
There is sometimes a 4th and 5th reason. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, you have to just be happy that it did – the movie has a good premise and some good acting (a few famous adult actors don’t hurt either).
The Disney Channel and Kenny Ortega are back together for a new musical TV movie this Friday, July 31st, at 8pm ET. Descendants has quite an original premise. Belle (Keegan Connor Tracy – Once Upon A Time) and The Beast (Dan Payne – The Cabin In The Woods), have unified the kingdoms, and “got himself elected as king of The United States of Auradon.” He banished all the evil people to the Isle of the Lost.
October means Halloween, and Halloween equates to shameless viewings of our favorite haunted fun films. One spooky sensation always tops my must-watch list. Hocus Pocus, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, stands out as one of the funniest and most quotable movies of the holiday season.
It only seems appropriate to revisit the film by noting 13 facts and finds, thanks to IMDB and my strange knowledge of these fine details.
