D23 Expo: Ty Burrell Previews ‘Muppets Most Wanted’
  |  @   |

Get ready for Muppet mayhem in March 2014, as a preview of Muppets Most Wanted shown today at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, suggests this will be a fantastic sequel to the 2011 feature, The Muppets.

The newly-shown footage says that Constantine, the villainous Kermit look-alike with a mole, is the “world’s greatest criminal (that) bears resemblance to someone you know.” Constantine is a riot, as indicated by the clips, including a musical sequence where he asserts his “number one” authority over Ricky Gervais’ character, Dominic, aka Number Two.

The scene began with the Muppets in a theatre, looking for Kermit, and in comes Gervais with Kermit “clone” Constantine, who tries to cover up his European accent. Animal senses this is not his amphibian pal and attempts to eat Constantine’s arm. Constantine talks with Walter, but the cheerful Muppet does not understand who this is. Constantine struggles to say the word “burglary” when scheming with Gervais’ character, and then the two enter their duet on a staircase. They even “tap dance.” This was hilarious, and the audience was apparently the “first in the world” to see this footage, according to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Sean Bailey.

Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy Fire Back At Fox News’ Attacks On ‘The Muppets’
  |

You can’t blame the good people at Fox News for feeling the need to stir up some outrage; their relentless campaign of disinformation against President Obama has made them pariahs among more respectable news outlets and the current crop of Republican presidential candidates isn’t exactly inspiring confidence that the GOP will take back the White House this Fall (in a recent Fox News poll 44% of their viewers now believe that Obama would win a second term if either Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich were the 2012 Republican candidate for President).

One of the network’s favorite targets has always been “liberal” Hollywood and how they want to impose their debauched lifestyles and depraved beliefs on the fragile young mindsets of young Americans and lay waste to traditional family values in an apocalyptic fire of legalized abortion and medicinal marijuana. Most of the time certain outspoken celebrities give the fuming news drones at Fox plenty of fuel for their bilious fury, but then there are other times when it’s obvious that they’re just grasping at straws.

Frank Oz Reveals Why He Turned Down ‘The Muppets’
  |

When The Muppets hits theaters the day before Thanksgiving the movie will be missing one of the original “Muppeteers”: Frank Oz.

Before becoming a director with films as diverse as the 1986 musical remake of Little Shop of Horrors and the DeNiro/Brando/Norton crime drama The Score to his credit, Oz provided the voices and movements for several of the most iconic Muppet characters including Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Animal as well as Grover and Cookie Monster on Sesame Street. He also did the voice and puppeteering for Yoda in the original Star Wars trilogy (for the prequels Oz only did the voice, as Yoda was now a CGI character).

Watch The First Official Trailer & ‘Green Lantern’ Parody From ‘The Muppets’
  |  @   |

A couple of new trailers have been released for Disney’s The Muppets, including another parody trailer as well as the first full official trailer for the movie.

As far as parodies go a few have been released, the first of which was a bit strange but still amusing. This new one is a parody of the just-released DC Comics superhero movie, Green Lantern, with a voice over reciting the Lantern’s oath before revealing it’s actually for The Muppets. A poster to go with the spoof trailer has also been released, with Kermit the Frog as a Lantern.

Then comes the first official trailer for the movie, which sets up the actual storyline and dedicates the whole trailer to Muppet goodness. You can see both trailers and the Kermit Green Lantern poster by continuing on below now.
